    Biceps die quickly!

Hey guys...I am currently doing a 5 day split with Biceps and Triceps on the same day. The problem is my biceps die after 2 sets of anything really and I can barely do anything else for them. What is going on? Surely 2 sets isn't enough. I have tried spacing out my back and bicep workouts but the same result occurs. This doesn't happen with any other muscle.

Here's my bicep/Tricep workout if it helps:

    Barbell Curls 3 sets/8-10
    superset w/
    Decline Overhead Extensions 3 sets/8-10

Usually after this I have troubles with the rest of the bicep exercises...

    Hammer Curls 3 sets/6-10
    superset w/
    Rope Pulldowns 3 sets/10-12

Hammer Strength Preacher Curls 2 sets/
    Weighted Dips 2 sets/failure

    Any ideas?

I can't do bi's and tri's on the same day. After my tricep routine is done I can barely bend my arm to 90 degrees. When I was training both muscles in the same day, I never felt like my biceps we're even being worked a bit. I have even tried biceps first and then triceps but I had almost the same problem.

I tried a routine close to yours, too, but I never felt satisfied when I finished.

With that said, my only suggestion is to split them up and you'll be golden!

I don't know what your problem is, but like graeme87 said, maybe you should attempt to use less weight. Focus on the range of motion and do slow movements.

I never do bi's and tri's the same day... usually on opposite ends of my training cycle

imo... you should try the push/pull workout regime

Day1 anterior leg groupings, major ab concentrations
    Day2 chest, tri's
    Day3 shoulders, major ab concentrations
    Day4 offday
Day5 posterior leg groupings, major ab concentrations
Day6 traps and back, major lower back concentrations
Day7 biceps, forearms, major ab concentrations
    Day8 off

split the days off as you will, but that regimen has been treating me very well for the past year (with complete exercise/set augmentations every 2 months of course)

5-8 sets, depends on your intensity. THey are a small muscle so they don't need much work but bi's with get hit on abck day and tris hit on chest day.

Try 5 set to failure for your biceps and triceps and see how you feel. forget about the weight you are lifting. I work my way do to 8KG dumbbells sometimes if I'm doing drop sets.

On my traditional routine I would go as high as 12 sets total (3 exercises, 4 sets each). I've switched to DC training and now only do one set =(
