Leg press form
Up untill receintly i always believed that leg press form should be;
Fairly narrow stance ( 12 inches apart )
Depth should only be as low as you can go while keeping your arse/ hips on the seat.
While doing leg press like this i can move a fair bit of weight, however i have never been a fan of this exercise as it seems to strain my hips/ lower back trying to keep this form. It has also played my knees up aswell.
However receintly i have changed my form to;
Wide stance
Full depth ( as deep as you can possibly go )
Arse/ hips may come off the pad/ seat
60% of the normal weight
Since doing them like this all discomfort has gone away, my leg workoits are bette than ever, the leg press is now my favorie exercise for legs and the pump i get off this exercise is amazing
Doing the exercise like this i can feel each part of my quad working at different parts of the movement.
I recomend tyat you try this, remembering to start light a build it up slowlyLast edited by baseline_9; 08-15-2010 at 12:57 PM.
