question about calories while biking
If i weight 200 lbs and do 1 hour biking at 13 MPH, how much calorie do i burn?
i saw places where they say like 300 and others where it says 1000....anyone knows it? its hard for me to calculate TDEE if theres a 700 calorie differential just from this activity...

I do a biking as my main cardio activity and had the same problem in calculating the calorie expenditure, I reckon a 1hour ride at 13mph is about 700 cals, no way of really knowing, it's just I did that often during the transformation competition it just felt right.

Its almost impossible to figure out on an exercise bike or on the road - primarily for one reason - resistance. On exercise bike is dependant upon resistance on road its bependant upon gear (thus resistance) and hills.
Also you have to factor in fitness levrl (bodyweight , bf%, muscle mass etc) I do the same ride as you - we both burn diff amounts of calories.
I cycle alot (not now cause im injured). To be honest i cycle outside and really do it because i enjoy it - i dont calculate anything - cutting or not. I know how i feel and enjoy cycling - thats fine for me, works well, and suits my personal goals.
Here is my opinion : If you have what would be considered lower than avg bf with higher than avg muscle mass you will be twords the higher end. 700 - sounds like a good estimate - do that for a bit and adjust from there. The only thing i will say is that if riding outside and your avg speed is 13 mph you def arent pulling a high gear - so unless the area is hilly - your resistance is pretty low. 13 is a pretty leisurely ride.
