Who here works out at late-night?
hey guys.
i have a habit of working out late at night. usually, I get to the gym at about 9PM or sometimes 10PM and go for about an 1hr 15mins or 2hrs on a combo day. is anybody else like this? how do you find it? i haven't had any real probs except on some rare days, i keep yawning at the gym. but i get to sleep really quick when coming back home? are there any disadvantages to late-night workouts?

I don't find any real disadvantages to late night workouts personally...
Due to my work schedule I only have two possible times of the day to work out: Early in the morning (5:30am) and late at night (9:30pm). I've done the early morning, and although it's not bad, I just couldn't get myself to make any considerable mass gains while on that regime. So I prefer late evening workouts.... if I am too tired I take a NoDoz about 3 hours before.

I used to do the late workouts, 7:30pm - 9pm. Now I am a 6am type of guy.

Well I'd love to workout in the morning, but I have to be at work at 7am and the gym doesn't open until 5am. That would be cutting it way to close for me. So I have to stick with the evening workouts.

When I work out late at night I have tremendous power and always have a good feeling. If you are tired when you are working out late at night, take a nap before training. I always do and that works magic for me

Idealy for me I like to wake up and do cardio at 5:45 am. Come home and take shower, be to work by 7 am. work till 3 pm and head strait for the gym. Put in my 45 min- hour, and be done for the day.
my hours were switched to 3 pm till 11 pm now though, so I wake up at 9 am and do cardio. Come home, wait an hour and then eat, wait a half hour and the go lift weights, I hate doing it like this, but it is my only option. 1 because the gym I go to closes at 10 pm and 2 because in order to have enough energy to workout after work, I would have to sleep till around 11 or 12 in the morning and I hate sleeping in that late.
Hopefully it will only be for 3 months though.

Not to be a thread whore, but I wanted to throw this question out:
When working out late in the evening, how many meals do you fit in before going to sleep? I personally try to lift no later than 6 or 7pm so I can fit in at least three meals before I go comatose for the next 10 hours.
~~Peace~~

That was my main concern with working out late at night. How to make the diet work. I didn't want to have to stay awake just to get me meals in.
