I look like I can lift more than I actually do....

Anyone else experience this? Im not a big guy yet(working towards it) but I'm athletic looking. I see guys who don't look near as big as me in the gym but lift a lot more weight. I especially notice this when it comes to chest exercises. My chest has always been my weak point. My diet is getting pretty sound, logging all macros currently. I attribute it to me being on the tall side, 6ft and having long arms....It just really ****s with me mentally sometimes when I see guys who look like they have never touched a weight, flop down and out bench me. I know its not how much you can lift in bodybuilding, but what you look like you can....

Thoughts? Any weak bodybuilders out there lol?

Don't worry about it. I feel like I cannot lift sh*t and I don't care. All I care about now is growth and looking better.

I read an article last night by Jay Cutler that said (to paraphrase) a lot of the guys with huge legs don't squat heavy, because they are concentrating on exhausting the muscle, not maximum poundages. He also said he lifts with guys that can move more weight than him but are much smaller. Obviously we get bigger by pushing progressively heavier weights, but the numbers don't really matter. It is how we work the muscles.

Every one is different.. i cant squat 250kg + my own body weight 150kg atm but my PB on bench press is only 70 i can almost do that on bicep curls yet i have a very large chest.
It dose freak you out a bit when you see guys 1/4 of you size benching over twice what you can.. makes you feel like a bit of a pusssy.. but as i said ever one is different.. you might be able to kill them in triceps or dead lifts or lats or something.. trust me it all evens out in the end..

i used to freak out about the fact i couldn't bench jack shit compared to some of the other blokes but after watching them i discovered that i can do other things much better then they can..

Do your own thing, to your own abilities and you with be happy as a rat with a gold tooth..

    Cheers Gym_
