    "Off days"

    current routine is the following
    Day 1 Hams/Quads
    Day 2 Shoulders/Calfs/Traps
    Day 3 "Off"
    Day 4 Back/Biceps
    Day 5 Chest/tricep
    Day 6 "Off"
    Start Day 1

I put "Off" in quotes because actually those days I do cardio and core so I really never have an off day. I have been training like this for a few months and only missed one day because of a work emergency.
Just looking for opinions here. On off days do you do nothing at all or do you do some cardio, abs, etc.
I know I may be over training so I am wondering what other people do on there off days.

On my off days I usually do some really light cardio or nothing at all. It seems to me that if you never take a day off you probably are over training, Id take at least one day a week where you do nothing.

Thanks for your input, it probably would be best to take at least 1 full day off.

i was doing that myself for 3 - 4 months but last week i couldnt run for more than 15mins on threadmill without calves feeling like they were going to explode, point of story is that i burnt myself out, and needed week off to recover now i feel brand new again but im not going to go over 5days per week anymore as i feel that what i was doing may of been counterproductive and never gave my body a proper chance to recover from workouts hence my eventual burn out, i would go as far as saying it may of hurt gains slightly, especially on legs. . . .although i was doing serious miles on threadmill and dont know how much cardio your doing or if same may apply to you

Depends on goals- cutting down you want to do all that and more. I'd still maybe take 1 day off per week. When I'm trying to grow I might even go down to 3 days per week- just big compound movements. 1 day push 1 day pull and 1 day legs.

Thanks for the input. I may back off a day a week for a month and see who it goes.

I never take a day off.

    Weights every other day
One hour on the elliptical plus abs on my off days.
If I have no time to train I call that an off day. So basically holidays
