    Disproportionate Muscle

I'm sure everone has a slight difference in muscle size between their dominate side versus the other, but over the years my right trap and bicep are really getting out of whack versus my left. More sizr on my right and more definition on my left. It's reaaly only noticable when I flex but it still bothers me. I have tried to concentrate on my left side with lifts and still isn't working. My question is would it be better to stop training my right bicep and trap (directly) for a couple of weeks and concentrate on my left or add a couple sets to my left side on every workout?

Don't masturbate so much sounds like your right handed, and stick with using barbells instead of dumbbells. Compound lifts also help keep sides proportional.

Don't stop training one side. You need to get the neuromuscular connection u have on ur strong side the same as ur weak side. Try to focus and feel the muscle working rather than just moving weight and counting reps

i wouldnt do this as you stronger side could lift majority of weight if your not careful and you will still have same problem, if it bothers you that much try doing an extra set on exercises which you feel you muscles are disproportionate

Completely disagree with this as well if muscle imbalance is in question. Dumbells force each muscle to work independent of each other while a barbell allows transference from one muscle to another. Not sure how you arrived at this conclusion.

Thanks for the replies. I typically use dumbells for most of my lifts. Think I will add a couple extra heavy low rep sets to those lagging body parts.

If one side is lacking the neuro-muscular (mind-muscle connection) is more than likely the weak link. I would advise lightening the weight and learning to feel the contraction as opposed to adding more weight which may make the problem even worse.
