    cardio weights vs weights cardio

    If you had no choice but to do them back to back...which one first and why???

    Weights first. You'll have more energy to lift heavier. You go into "fat burning mode" much faster. If you cardio first, it takes 15 to 20 minutes before you're actually burning fat. But after lifting, you cut that in half or more depending on intensity. There are more reasons, but these are why I cardio after. I do however, treadmill for 10-15 minutes before workout as well.

    Nothing compares to Fasted AM cardio.

    I'm older, and everything i do is geared up to prevent injury. so i go 5 minutes on the stationary first, just to get the blood pumping.

    I don't think this is what you are referring to though.

    OK. when i do cardio, it would be at a different time/day than my normal routine. For me, it's a question of running out of steam.......

    Yes A...thats the way I normally do it as well.

    TR...I would love to have the time but...I get one shot a day so I have to do both together. I have been so drained I have a shake in between sometimes

    I'm sure I read a thread on here a coupe of days ago, stating that cardio after weights was good for burning fat, but it reduced the amount of muscle gain you you could get from just doing your workout alone. So seems a good mixture to do while on a cut but they may be better split if trying to bulk.

    Did any one else read that thread, I can't think where it was or what it was called.

    yes. i read it. don't ask me to find it. I can't even remember when i read it..............
