Should I split muscle groups?
I always hear about people splitting up their muscle groups in their workout routine. Here is my routine.
Mon: Upperbody
Tues: Legs
Wedn: off
Thurs: Upperbody
Fri: Legs
Sat: off
Sun: off
-is there anything wrong with this routine? is there any necessity in splitting up muscle groups?Last edited by flexgolf; 05-06-2003 at 10:30 AM.

do you mean all upperbody one day and legs the next?

it's hard to prioritize specific muscles on that plan, plus the longer you're in the gym the more cortisol your body puts out

It sounds like you are overtraining.

One...maybe two muscle groups a day once a week is all you should need. What you're doing is defintely overtraining.

i think it depends on how many excersizes he is doing and how many reps, but regardless, there are better ways to train IMO.

Im not sure if its worth adding, but do one day lighter than the other. Can anyone recomend a split of upperbody muscles over 2 days? ive heard chest tris and shoulders are good together, and back and bis together. One thing ive wondered is that if i only exercise a muscle group once a week....that means i need a week to recover. when most people seem to think that i should be able to recover in less than 4 days. thats why i chose to break up the groups the way i did, i work out less intense, but more often. any suggestions or comments?
