Am I injured or just hurt???
I was DLing today and mid rep i heard a sound come from my lat/rear delt tie-in, kind of near the scapula. It sounded like muffled velcro coming apart, or a muffled wet rag tearing. I didnt feel immediate pain but a pretty good soreness set in within minutes and its been slowly getting worse over the past few hours.
Its not unbearable by any means, but when i move in specific ways it is a fast sharp reminder of what happened.
Any ideas if it's just a good pull or if there may be some tearing i there? Obviously I'm going to take it easy but Ive never heard anything like that come from my body before so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

You need to see a specalist ASAP, pain will get worse soon enough as edema builds up in the torn muscle, you can bet on it.
Get ready for an MRI session and multiple visits to the Dr.'s office.

This why I dont do Deads. Except stiff legs on leg day. I have heard shit tear in my lower back too many times.
I just do weighted back extensions, and I get just as sore from them. It feels like it is working the lower back just as good.
I was repping 365 on deads for a while, and then 1 day warming up with 225, POP! Never done them since. I know my form was off, I think I twisted a bit. But I cant afford being injured. Not worth it.
It is a great excersise. Cause I like to know that I can pick up heavy shit.
