    Long break from working out?

Perhaps I'm seeking comfort in preparation for my 11 day break I will need to take in January. I will need to live temporarily at my parents while they're gone and while I care for my niece and nephew at their home, I won't be able to work out during that time. I'm dreading the break and I will be in a shitty mood as a result, I've not taken a long break such as this since I started to work out 1.5 years ago. Has anyone take a break as such from working out? If so, did you turn into a marshmallow? lol Will I lose some muscle during this time?

Don't take a break. Be creative. Look up the thread, "earth gym". A guy can be creative without access to a gym and still maintain or get much bigger. Anything you lose will come right back, no need to lose.

I work out from home and despise gyms, depending on how much the gym (not far my parents) will cost for 10 days and if I even have the time to do it because the kids will need to be watched with no help, I might not be able to work out. Trust me, I'm already stressing and it's about 2 months from now...lol..

If you haven't had a break in 1.5 years then take one. It'll do your body good. I take a week or two off once or twice per year and feel it's one of the best things you can do for yourself, both mentally and physically. You'll come back refreshed and motivated! And no, you won't lose a thing....

This ^^^^^^^^X2. Usually after a break I come back with a renewed enthusiasm to train and much less pain in my body. Enjoy your time off and hit it hard when you get back.

2-3 months of not lifting is really when you'll start seeing loss in strength and muscle , so 2-3 weeks really wont do damage . You'll deff be fine

Probably come back stronger as long as you continue to eat clean.
Our bodies need the breaks. If anything,do some light work like push ups ,body weight squats, lifting the kids etc if you have to.

Sometimes a break will do you well. Use this opportunity to heal, recover and grow. Keep your DIET flawless and get plenty of rest. Don't extend your layoff too long though or you will start to go in reverse and starting back gets harder and harder.

JD, after reading your post I couldn't wait to respond. However some of the guys above have already said it. A good rest like that is one of the best things you can do for your body. You won't believe how strong you will feel after you get back to the gym! A rest gives your body time to heal, like one of the guys stated above, your body needs rest like this to rejuvenate the body and mind. If you have access to tread mill that would be great to use during that time as well. Don't sweat it bro, this is a good thing!
