Should I train more on Cycle
Should I be extending my training sessions whilst on?
I've always trained for 1-1.25 hours a day.
Always taking every set to failure with good form. I don't do a rest day as such but maybe once a week I'll just swim 2-3 klms.
Question is should I be upping the ante whilst on cycle?
My current training split has worked well for me previously. It follows the HST profile.
Alternative days upper then lower body.
I've responded by far better to this than any other training program that I've tried.
Should I increase duration of training sessions or not?

On / OFF doesn't make a difference just ON you will have more intensity and heavier weights there for will need the same amount of recovery

That was going to be the next question. As my lifts have gone up substantially in all areas do I then need to allow time for more rest or will the fact the my protein synthesis is up account for that with drcreased recovery time?

As intensity increases recovery time needs to increase. When training you are stimulating more than just muscle. Tendons, ligaments and the CNS are all being worked. Time must be given for recovery of these things too.

Its not the muscles that you need to worry about for recover they take 24-48 hours this is proven over and over ,
Its your CNS that needs recover from daily stress and lifting and pushing to the limit it can only take so much when this does not recover , time off sleep food etc... you will start to tapper down wards not recover not grow break down tissue etc
