    2-3 week cycles

I was reading on 2-3 short cycles for less side affects for sports athletes. Would you need HCG or clomid in this short of a cycle. I've read people getting and keeping 8 pounds in such a short cycle and having way less side affects. Any personal experience.

Not sure if you are saying (2) three week cycles, or a single two week to three week cycle. But anyways, you need PCT for any cycle. Depending on what you are running, some people can be shut down with one injection. A cycle that short I don't think will do much other than shut you down, unless you are running test suspension, in which case I could see a 3 week cycle....maybe. Side effects depend on the person, and the gear. Some people prefer to run short esters with an everyday injection to help keep the sides down, that's what I did. Can't see gaining and keeping 8 pounds of quality lean muscle with a cycle that short.

2 months ago I started a cycle, but when I started I decided I really wasn't ready to do one. After researching more I am getting ready to do one, and I like the idea of a 3 week cycle. Just from my previous attempt, I did 2 injections of 300mg Test Cyp. I did them a little over 2 weeks apart. Definitely for that month I was getting great pumps at the gym, I went up in weight in every exercise, and since that time I have ben able to keep the strength and even continue to climb. The pumps aren't the same of course, and I lost the water bulk that came with it. Bottom line, I did grow, and what I really did was get over a plateau that I had been on for 3 or 4 months. I work out consistently, and my diet doesn't consist of too much junk. I think what caused me to second guess doing my full cycle was that I wanted to get a real idea of the success rate of pct. I would really like know the amount you can do without having to do pct. At this point, 2 injections with a long ester spread out 2 weeks certainly shut down my natural test, but I bounced back with no pct in a week or so. I do remember in particular there was one day about 3 weeks after my second injection that I felt really exhausted, but I slept it off and felt back to normal the next day. This go around, I would like to do 6 weeks max, and determine what a proper pct regimen would be for that. I think if I did 3 weeks, once a week it would be great for me. Meaning that, it would produce the results I am looking for. I was afraid the first time to do full 12 weeks because 1. it would be noticeable that I was on them, and 2. I wanted to be sure of the recovery that I intended to do. Anyways, that was my previous experience. I really like what the test did for me, and want to do it again correctly. My one real question is about hcg during cycle. I don't know if I agree with taking test (that shuts testes down) and hcg (which cuts them back on), am I wrong with how that works? I just am confused that I would be sending my body 2 different messages.

I am 24, probably 10% body fat, decent diet, in the gym weight training 3 times a week, 140lbs, and 5'9 1/2"

I think in short you should not be messing around with AAS if you have no working knowledge of how PCT works. PCT is extremely important in recovery. Since your HPTA is supressed, the goal is to jump start it as fast as you can to keep as much of your gains as you can however, you will always loose some, at least most of us will. The only time you can get away with not running PCT is if you are on HRT. Since you said you already did 2 injections of test cyp, your first goal should be to get blood work done to see if you actually did recover properly. As far as HCG goes, HCG aides in recovery by mimicking LH which in turns sends a signal to your leydig cells to produce testosterone . It is essential in recovery, if you do not recover properly you lose the muscle you gained, which essentially means your entire cycle was a waste of time, money and erections.

A 2-3 week cycle is a waste of time and not worth the risks IMHO.

One should always use hcg on cycle. Short cycles can be done, but IMO the smallest duration of time on should be around 30-40 days. One of the most important aspects of a short cycle is priming correctly before beginning. Attached is a thread written by Marcus and is the best info I have come across on short cycles.

But 5-6 weeks of test p with a good prep and good hard training and eating like a dog in heat you will get good gains and recover quicker to jump on the next cycle

So.. if I do a short burst cycle, lets say 6 weeks instead of 12, does that mean - i'll cut my normal PCT to 2 weeks instead of 4? and also does that mean that my time off cycle would be 8 weeks ( 6 weeks + 2 Pct)?

One should still do a 4 week long PCT when running a shorter cycle.

Pct is still the same but the shorter the cycle the quicker you can go on your next cycle if you recover properly of course

Problem is most don't do BW to actually see how (or if) they recovered.
