Great bmx bikes. I had Ross snapper, mongoose Cali and expert and a jag. Road those bikes until the fell apart. Also had a cool radar scooter with may wheels LOL.
Was anyone into RC cars and trucks then? I had the big brute, rc-10 og, the lunch box and so many others.

We didn't have shit. My dad came through with 3 passports and 2 days later we fleed the country in the middle of the night. Jumped on a PanAm flight to the only place they had available on such a short notice, Austria. Then we bounced through airports for a few months before we got to Italy. We stayed there for almost a year before we got the go on US.
Russia was a bad mothterfvcker but if you were at the bottom you aren't climbing to the top.

I have tried my best not to remember 90% of my first 12 years of life.
It wasn't so swell, had some very interesting parts. But, when I say interesting I don't mean good interesting.
But, I have learned a lot from all of that shit I suppose.
But, it does seem like it would have been nicer to have a solid well rounded childhood. . . . . - Yup them are the 80's for me.

My dad bought us a 70cc honda when we were kids. No suspension but it had these big bloated tires so it was kind of bouncy. I fell over the front of the handlebars and it rolled over my leg. Also crashed it into a tree. I wasn't hurt but it sucked because my dad made me go into work with him on a Saturday and bend the foot rest back into shape, that is what took the brunt of the hit. The trike was never the same.
My dad didn't know it at the time but when I would get kind of far away I would floor it and simultaneously back out the limiter screw. Did it that way so you couldn't really hear a change in the sound of the engine because it was gradual. He never picked up on it. He just kept adding more and more teflon tape to the screw thinking it was just vibrating loose... lol
I finally told him about that just recently and he got a pretty good kick out of it. At the time he probably would have beat me and took the trike away.

Which brings up another memory... in the 80s you could still beat your kids without fear of them video taping it and posting it on the web to ruin your life!
