Pre-Workout Rituals/Motivation
Lately I've been watching a few minutes from either "Blood and Guts" or "The Unbelievable" prior to my workouts as a way to get all fired up about maximizing my time in the gym. In the past I'd looked at a picture of me from my fat-and-chunky mononucleosis days for pre-gym motivation, or rocked some Tool, but it's definitely Dorian and Ronnie these days (the occassional Pumping Iron as well). What about you? What's your current "get out and kick ass" tactic?

i listen to very loud music and stomp around my apartment thinking of people i would like to destroy. after a good 5 10 min of this im extremey angry and channel all the anger to the wrkout. it works very well. there is just something about very very very loud music that pumps me up!! also i look down and dont see abs yet, another motivational tool that is very powerful!

i used to walk to the gym which took about 40 mins. I would block out all distractions and just tell mysel how hard i was going to train. On leg days i would focus on the fact i was about to suffer loads of pain etc. May sound silly but i would leave my house start thinking and the next thing i knew id be at the gym totally ready. I even got hand tremors and an all over shaky feeling like i was about to jump off a high-dive. it was weird but id warm up v.quickly then get in the squat rack and just go. But the gym then closed and i had to drive to the new one. That meant concentrating on the road and i havent even gotten the same psych since.

to add to my post, i've found an mp3 player is vital. load it up with tunes that makes me want to break stuff and i just zone out in the gym

A big cup of coffee, throw on the Mp3 player with Korn blaring, 10 minutes on the heavy bag, and I am fired up..

varies for me- sometimes it might be watching a decent clip from a movie/ watching part of a k1 fight/ loud music/ or just mentally preparing myself by thinking "bad thoughts"....

definitely blasting the mp3 player with some v-shaped mind or slipknot and also thinking about certain mother phuckers that i wanna just absolutely beat the s*** out of.

pumping iron, all i have to do is watch the part where lou farigno is killing him self in the gym, screaming "arnold!!!" and and hour later im in the gym screaming arnold

i snort a line of crank..that gets me motavated.. nah jk..i lift at home..so i turn on the bigscreen with pumping iron on it at whatever part that pretains to my workout im doing..watch a lil..then go to my "gym" i have...and crank out my 300wat stereo with fear factory blastin!!!!!

i spend about an hr before hand thinkin bout my lifts and how i want to feel and how i wann lift, thats about it, i think about the stage later down the road and how now matters like then...thats about it realy..

I am usually listening to my trance mixes. Good and continuous motivation through-out the sets.

No, I cant say I have, I usually check out all the new ****. I am a huge fan of Dj Dean and his work with Tunnel Trance, also like Johan Gielen, his mixing for Trance Energy 2003 was great.

When I had my 5.0 mustang at my disposal i would drive it for 45 mins on the way to the gym listneing to music.. that did a good job...
