Wrestling a Bear!!!
Where I live, they are having a challenge of who can pin a bear.. the prize is $1000... I thought about maybe trying it since I have some wrestling experience placing at state and wrestling at nationals but the bears are strong as well.... there has to be a trick to it cuz i dont see anyone fighting a bear to its back? I doubt i will go in the cage with a bear but i was wondering if theres any way to take him down??

i saw a clip once a few years back the guy started by getting in a clinch with the bear tehn he twisted his body at a 45 degree angle and the bear moved round and he fel as he did. he wasnt a big bear by any standards probably 5ft8 but to be honest i would say theres a knack to it, like ther eis knocking out a horse. if you know it its a piece of cake.

i know 2 guys who wrestled a bear, one was a strong man from the 70's another a world class powerlifter and champion kick boxer. both weighed 250lbs plus, both lost miserably!!! no trick to fight a bear unless you can use a gun

Bears are far superior, they are bigger stronger fitter can run faster climb faster swim faster and if you play dead and its hungry it will eat you anyway.

I think it would be difficult for a bear to lay on its back for very long if it wanted to. It does not seem to be a normal position for a bear. To hold one in that position would be extremely difficult especially if the bear was not trying as well. If your huge you may be able to hook your foot around its leg while moving towards it and trip it. Most likely it is not used to people running directly at it.
I wouldnt go for a take down because if it is standing up it can drop a lot of weight quickly on your back. Anyway, sounds cool and good luck!
If you do get it down, just hold it for a second and jump up with your hands in the air like you won! If you wait very long the bear will just get out of it and it will open the doors for questioning. If you just jump up like you won, and everyone starts cheering, it will be more dificult for the anouncer to stop and start discussing the amount of time the bear needed to be pinned for.

Do it, and tell us how it goes. If you don't post back, we'll assume that the bear ate you.

I could see dropping it, but not pinning it. Also I would rather fight a bear than a gorrilla.
