Personally I think it's a bunch of bullshit. Not attending your own mothers funeral b/ of a bodybuilding show, shows how selfish this sport can really make you. Fine line between selfish and disciplined. So the Olympia is in 2 wks, are they going to keep the dead body laying around and do the funeral in 2 weeks? Nah, dont think so. Theoretically speaking, at 2 wks out from a show, all he really has to do is pose and do cardio and he can still come in looking just as good. Taking gear on a plane needn't be a worry because at 2 wks out almost all of these guys are dropping all their injectables. And whats a 5th place at the O pay anyways? Probably just enough to cover his plane ticket and food. Selfish

Vince Lombardi was one of the best football coaches ever and was an old out of shape man.. He still had knowledge and insight on football even though he couldn't play.

I have to say I agree with 305 that I would attend the funeral no matter what. I didnt fully realise my mom was dead before I saw her in the coffin. I think its hard to get the same kind of closure without that.

But Im not judging Vic in anyway. I just hope he wont regret it later on. It would only be selfish if he had other family members that needs his support during this time.

I agree with you, my Mom died when I was 16, wouldnt missed it for anything, would give anything in the world to speak to her again.
