NEW YORK (AP) -- Police say an aircraft has crashed into a building on Manhattan's Upper East Side at 72nd Street and York Avenue. It is near Rockefeller Center.
There was no word on casualties.
Video from the scene shows at least three apartments in the high rise fully engulfed in flames.
It's unclear if it was a small plane or a helicopter.

Just got this off of BBC World News...
A small plane has crashed into a building in New York City's Upper East Side, causing a serious fire.
TV pictures show flames and smoke coming out of the high-rise building on Manhattan island.
The FBI has told the BBC that there is no indication that the crash is terrorism-related.
A Fire Department spokeswoman said the aircraft struck the 20th floor of a building on East 72nd Street.
Witnesses told the Associated Press news agency the crash caused a loud noise, and burning and falling debris was seen.

This one in all reality seems more like an accident."without your word you're a shell of a man" - Tupac

A lot of older people live in that area. Retirees. They would be home during the day.

-
Not sure they think it was a small plane.
-
Confirmed it was a plane and we have deployed fighter jets over many major US citites just to be safe. The White House says there is no indication that this is related to terrorists.
-
From looking at the fire on the news it does not look like it was very big
