Cable questin for laptop
What sort of cable would I need to connect a base unit to my laptop so that wen i turn on the base unit, it cums onto my laptop screen ??

so you wanna use your laptop as a seperate screen? for a desktop? why not just get a second monitor..theyre quite cheap these days

give laptop model and desktop model and some specs...we can take it from there...list your connections too

sorry i should of bin more specific. I have a base unit that was hand built. Now the monitor for that is fukd. I bought a new laptop recently and wanted to use the laptop to read the display from the base but stil have my laptop running.
the base unit has the standard VGA port which the monitor normaly attatches to and the laptop has the same, exept it is black and not blue

yah...ur wasting your time...not gonna happen. Buy a monitor.
If you were trying to do the opposite then it'd be fine...but your not.
