Hold off buying an XBox 360!!!
The second Xbox 360 revealed: codename Zephyr
"Ever wonder why Microsoft hasn't released an HDMI cable for the Xbox 360, or whether the AV port was really capable of digital out? Well, here's your answer: we landed pictures of what appears to be the second Xbox 360 -- the Xbox 360 v2, if you will -- codenamed Zephyr. (The original Xbox 360, if you recall, was codenamed Xenon.) The long rumored about and awaited update to the console won't just feature a new, cooler 65nm processor, it's also finally added an HDMI port for full digital 1080p pleasure, as well as a 120GB drive, just what the doctor ordered. The 120GB drive may or may not come bundled with the kit, we don't yet know, just as we also don't yet know how much a Zephyr 360 is going to run (we imagine it'll go for the same price as currently so they can keep up a little on their expanding margin). But our very kind Xbox insider seemed happy to let us know we'd be able to get them "soon."Muscle Asylum Project Athlete

well if we didnt have a 1080 hd tv then it wouldnt matter. I just bought a flat panel tv and it plays the games and dvd's at 720. but the 120 gig hard drive would be nice

maybe the V2 will also address overheating issues.

A second revision of the Xbox 360 will see a major upgrade to the console's media features, according to a photo obtained by Engadget. The update, codenamed "Zephyr," should bring the crucial addition of an HDMI output, a connector necessary to ensure that later copy-protected HD DVD movies can display at their full resolution on newer HDTV sets. The system will also see its first increase in storage, according to the report: the new model will ship with a 120GB hard drive, there in part to provide additional storage for Microsoft's recently opened Xbox Live movie store. This extra capacity may be optional, the site notes.
While no release date has been given as part of the leak, Microsoft has already confirmed that it will ship refreshed Xbox 360s in mid-2007 using a cooler, 65-nanometer version of the three-core CPU at the heart of the system. Sources suggest that all three improvements may be scheduled to appear simultaneously.Muscle Asylum Project Athlete

they're going pretty damn cheap for the premium on ebay. I just saw a Premium packaged with burnout go for 315. Whatever the shipping is I just think of it like how much the tax would be, so its fine.

is the point of the hdmi output to connect to a tv/home theatre to improve picture quality.. whats the diffrence between the HD cables that im currently using and the hdmi cable (quality wise, next to nothing imo) and 1088p LMFAO what are your thoughts on that?

Great info. I was having a hard time decieding on if I would buy a 360 or a Wii, or both. If the 360 has a HD-dvd player built in, and still a good price, then I'll definately buy it.
