Most house for your money.....? Texas? Oregan? The gutter?
I am just interested in where yuo can get teh most house for your money in the US. I might move if I find a good deal with a similar career opportunity.
Texas seems good and so does oregan but the gutter, man, thats a great price.
But seriously, where is the property price low in the US ?

Not in north jersey.

I have relatives in North Carolina and in Georgia and their houses are around $50-$60/square foot. That's incredible because they both live in really nice neighborhoods. In Michigan (most areas) you're looking at around $75/square foot.

Don't forget the state of Arizona. Cheapest state pertaining to cost of living.

Michigan. The auto industry is ****ed right now and their housing markets has crashed. My fathers house has about 1000 sq ft on my current home, and my house would sell for 100k or more.
You can get some really good deals on second hand homes and new homes in MI. It's a straight buyers market.abstrack@protonmail.com

In TX you'll find a 3000sq ft plus new home for under 250-300K$ in a gated neighborhood.
Can't beat it
Foreclosures you can find for between 35-45$/sq. ft.

Ha ha nothing beats Iowa price wise man, but your job opportunities arent there, plus cost of living is crazy cheap. I paid 38K for my house 1200sf upstairs and down. Auto insurance is 88 a month for 3 vehicles. Gas is 2.14 right now. my electric bill was 48 bucks this month. My gas was high bcause its 20 degrees out but it was only 180. Cable tv is 25 bucks DSL internet is 35 oilchanges are 18 bucks. Our movie theater is 4.50 a beer in a bar is like 2.25 normally my property tax is 800 for the year. My wife makes 20K a year and i make maybe 12K a year part time while i go to school full time and we got plenty of money to pay all bills and still do fun stuff

i looked into building or rather having a huse built here and i was quoted $61 a square foot.. thats pretty good i think... altough i did just sell my 11 sf house for $85,000 2 weeks ago and i paid $65 for it 8 years ago so prices are going up

You definitely do not want to move to Wisconsin, I am a custom home builder in hte Madison area and our price per square foot starts at 175.00, cost of living is also up in this area BUT wages are fairly good.

Any southern hick state, or mid west you should find homes alot cheaper. Mass, Cali, Florida, Nj, NY, etc etc are all crazy expensive.

Well according to Fortune, yes I read em all, the market appreciation is in the South(center) while Cali and FL are on a small bubble. The midwest seem to appreciate but conservative and NE might bounce back. Should read the latest Fortune magazine really goes in detail for overall housing market.

Hey for all of you that are interested get this months issue of fortune magazine, there is tons of great info on the housing market and where it's going in the next 2 years. It's a yellow cover.

Here in northern california condo's are still going for $300/ sq ft and single family home a bit more. Personally i couldn't live with Org. politics, so I too am looking at some land in Texas.

I hate NJ.. even south Jersey.. I live in outside of Morristown, voted "best place to live" by money mag. But taxes alone are like $7,000 a year. And a 30year old house with 3 bedrooms will still cost you $350k.. Just ur basic box style house.

I live in Marin County, aka the most expensive county in the US. I'm hoping the market will drop a little bit so I can HOPEFULLY buy a ~1200sq ft fixer upper for $600K...That's if I'm lucky.

I would say texas. A lot of cheap real estate and no state tax.

You think where you live in expensive?
I live in Cheltenham or Hereford, UK.
My mum's house - 1800 sq ft worth 300 thousand POUNDS! or about $320 a sq/ft
my house...I don't even know the sq footage, but its pretty small 3 bedroom terrace..I'd say 1100-1200 sq ft if that much, worth £180k or about $280 a sq ft. Luckily I'm now a student so I don't have to pay council tax or that'd be a shitload too
I dont even live in my towns rich neighbourhood either! Its called the park about a mile away from my house, you're looking at a million pounds (nearly 2 million dollars) for anything above about 2 thousand sq ft.
And don't even get me started on london. that town is RIDICULOUS.
I wanna move to Texas!
