I'm a little confused here... Pap smears dont test for herpes, 90% of people will test positive for herpes in a blood test, and you can't get an accurate test unless you have an outbreak, which involves swabbing the outbreak directly.

I hate to be cynical, but have you considered the possibility that she knew she had herpes from the beginning? She may have wanted to tell you from the start, but knew you would never give her a chance if you knew she had an std. She may have used the doctors appointment as an easy way for her to get the truth on the table while garnering some degree of sympathy from you.

Either way, plan on getting the std if you stay in the relationship. It will happen eventually.

If the relationship ends in the distant future, it would take a very special woman to overlook the minor fact that you have HERPES. You would probably have to lie about the std to even have a chance at starting a new relationship...Sound familiar?

(fyi - A Valtrex commercial just came on...ironic)

Sorry to be so negative. I tend to over-analyze sometimes. But I bet you're trying to consider all angles and doing quite a bit of over-analyzing your self.

Herpes is not just found on mouth and genitals either.

herpes is from the same family as chicken pox etc.. and although rare, u can get it on other parts of your body as well.

Get this. Friend is a highschool nurse...during the last blood donation at this highschool 660 kids donated blood. 67% of the kids who donated were HIV Positive.

At the rate this is going...soon almost every american will have herpies or hiv. There seems to be no end in sight. And it is because of ignorant scum who have absolutley no respect for anyone including themselves.

Thats not tough. I cut my arm open with a razor blade, keep it open with 3/4" washer, stick a funnel in it and pour the test in. I never have to worry about hitting a vein.
