enhanced diamonds
I'm looking into buying a diamond. I saw a lot of them are enhanced. One I liked was an SI1 but clarity enhanced to a VS2. Its GAL certified. I just dont know if this is something to stay away from. Or something that's commonly done.

dude i work right next to jewelers row in center city, needless to say a good friend of mine is a gemologist (basicly he appraises diamonds all day) anyhow, if your looking for a nice quality ring (i mean if you still are, i know this i like a month late) i'm sure we could find somebody to hook you up (none of that get ripped off shit from those "jewelry stores", your just paying for the name with them) anyways, just throwin it out there for ya!

The cut of a diamond is probably the most important thing. If color and carity is decent, then the diamond wont look different to the human eye unless looking under a microscope, but the cut can make or break a diamond. A well cut diamond can give it a good sparkle, and not make it dull like some diamonds. Go talk to a sales rep at a decent jewelry store, you can learn alot and it will help in picking out a good diamond whether at a store or on the net.

first off.. WHO tha fuk is GAL?? GIA cert is the only one you want to pay for. wifes diamonds are al GIA cet'd VS1 or better with ideal cut and F or better color... I get my diamonds from downtown in small little diamond importer shop in the jewelry district... her engagement ring appraises over $20k and I didn't spend anywhere near that on it
