My Doc/Nurse almost killd me
Ok.. so i have always had high BP.. (apparently) like around 190/120 range
on or off cycle
i have been on up to 3 different bp meds at once .. tried total of 8-12 different kinds in every type of combination..
every time i go in to get it checkd i ask if they have the large cuff on the nurse says YES
been battling this High BP for YEARS.. always feeling like shit, pissing my brains out fromt he diuretics.. isnane head aches..
GUESS what went in other day to get blood work done... she takes my bp.. i see another cuff on the rack on here BP thingy.. im like HEY is that.. the large one?.. she goes no the large cuff is already on .. im like can we just swap them to make sure.. SO WE SWAP and LOW BEHOLD .. for past few years the bitch was too lazy to swap out to the proper cuff.. so instead of the normal 160/90bp or the 190/120 BP..
IT WAS 98/72... so im sure w/ all the shit i was taking MY BP has probaly been in the ****ING NEGATIVES!!!
Oh My GOD. kan i please have Sign a waiver to go KILL HIM legally?

125/80 as of earlier today. Probably my best reading in the last few years. Usually I was in the 140/90 range.

All this time the Doctor never came in himself and checked your b/p in both arms?? If that's the case, and you have been on medication for the condition, I would be immediately looking around for a competent Doctor. Even after the nurse checks your chest/lungs, b/p, and pulse, I always double check especially someone that has a diagnosed medical condition that meds were prescribed for. Seriously, that's a problem that I wouldn't overlook.

Amazing how often this happens. Same thing happened to me years ago tai.
Looking back I am furious that i was incorrectly scribed bp meds that made me miserable (when i had fantastic bp). I hate all the lawsuits against doctors...feel bad for a lot of them...but I wish I could make that guy suffer through a month of bp meds...and punch him in the liver.
Lesson learned though, get that second opinion and research/take care of yourself!

Wait wtf?
I need to know about this because I never heard about the cuff size thing affecting bp.
But I was adminstered to an impatient clinic where they monitored my BP for 10 days straight (6 times a day) and highest it was - was 190-130 (on clonodine, inderal, and ativan to LOWER my bp).
When I got out they told me to see a cardiologist which I still haven't done.
But now I'm just on 80mg extended release inderal.
I have my BP checked once a month by my family physician and everytime I go in he raises the dosage of the inderal. I went from 10mg to 20 to 40 & now 80mg/ed.
High BP DOES run in my family, I'm 25, do cardio 5 times a week, don't smoke (use to) but more than anything had an accidental OD a while ago on the strongest stimulant know to man (not allowed to mention but you can figure it out).
Ever since the incident my BP has been extremely high. I was told to monitor my BP everyday so went out and bought one of those electrical machines and found out they weren't really reliable and inconsistent.
So now I venture off to the local A&P everyday to use their fancy $2,000 free self adminstration test (that you sit down in and its basically a universal cuff, or so I *think*).
But according to that machine my avg BP is usually around 180/110 on the inderal.
I'm just curious if anyone knows about the machine I'm talking about, they have them in a lot of supermarkets by the pharmacy. I've had my BP checked in 2 different places (not including the sit down machine at the supermarket) and just want to make sure I'm going about it the right way.
thanks!

The bp machines in most drug stores, Walmarts, etc., are designed for people with an average size arm of 13 inches. The machine should indicate such and also advise that if the cuff is too small then the reading will be inaccurate.
Now, from a professional standpoint, I would tell you if you are on 80mgs then you need to seek out a more consistent way to monitor your b/p. You are only 25 and you need to keep on top of this condition before it spins out of control and causes other health related issues.

Whacking him is not worth it. If you have the option to 'send a stern letter' do so - and then ditch him.
