Pulling for the wings here, wish these rules would change back to how hockey was in the early 90's. I mean just look at these games they play with CO back in the day they were more of a wrestling march then a hockey game. You had guys who would just go down the ice and slam people, they didnt even need a stick, haha.

Fack, they lost yesterday. It was one goalie stronger then the other plain and simple. Price wasn't as sharp as Biron because we out played them for sure.

Montreal is a good team but I dont have a lot of faith in Price, he's only 20 and has been looking really shaky and doesn't have the experience to take them all the way. Don't get me wrong he is better than a lot of goalies in the league but I would give Montreal a better shot if they kept Huet, he was impressive in the Flyers/Caps series.

Fleury gets the shutout and the Pens remain unbeaten in the playoffs.

You are probably right. However you have to look at it from GMs perspective.
For one, everyone knows Price is the goalie of the future, he needs playoff experience. 2) There is no, just no way he (Gainey) would sign Huet, a free agent, for 3-4 million per year for god know how long. Probably 3-4 years.
Finally they also have Jaroslav Halak the best goaler in the AHL for two years straight, who has also proven to be be NHL ready. You know what, it wasnt a bad decision, Price is one of the top 4-5 goalies in the playoffs and he will only get better, at 20 years old he will be good. Lets not forget he plays for the Montreal Canadiens, pressure central, and not the.....Nashville Predators. lol

Agreed, Gainey is a bold dude. He's not afraid of taking a chance, tons of respect to the canadians GM. I was super shocked at the trade at first and I would of liked the canadains to get a little more in return, but now, i beleive it was the right move. Price is getting valuable playoff experience. Also the organization is instilling faith in him, alot of goalies crumble under this pressure, but with Price, u can see there is something special about him. He has poise, confidence, and all the ability and skill.
No one predicted canadians to win with the young team the have now. They are the team off the future. Im glad they didnt go after hossa, they would of had to give up too much young talent (plus, i loved seeing him go to the pens , lol).
More on the goalie situation, we all know, as seen in playoffs time from time, any team can win if thier goalie gets "hot." And in this case, Price is diffenelty capable of doing so. They took a risk and i think it will pay off.

I've been giving San Jose more credit than they deserve, they've been playing awful and they ain't coming back.

agreed,
I thought they were going to do waaaaaaaay better in the playoffs,
They can't seem to get anything going..
Priority #1- they need to address the position between the pipes, their boys has had better days..

Price has let in 3 goals in about 10 shots, MTL has been playing like crap. Philly 3-0 end of the 2nd.

Man the habs have actually been playing well, its Price has been less then ordinary and Biron close to extraordinary. Habs outplayed Flyers every game, it could very easily been 3-0 habs but Price is costing as games, fawk.

you cant blame price for all those goals a couple of those would have been impossible to see, altho he has looked shaky. youve got to look at the scoring chances too on paper birons makin alot of saves but most of them are standard with no screen and time to position. i wonder who the habs are gonna start next game tho..regardless, i have to admit ide be surprised if they make it to the next round.

Well the next game is do or die IMO. If they lose they are down 1-3 and I doubt they recover. If they win its 2-2 and they regain home ice advantage. They just need better goaltending everything else is fine.

Stone, no one can deny that the Wings are an extremely good team, cuz they are. They just wont beat the pens.
-
If they both make it there it should be a good series.
