Nah, don't step down to his level and pre-judge him like he did you... if he even really did. Just treat him like any other person and be cordial and cool. Not kissing butt type, just cool. Be sincere, it is all in the eyes. If you show him your peace he will have no choice but to like you and his attitude will change, if he even has one.

afterall, he is just the brother-in-law looking out for her.. nothing more or too major. seems like you might be gettin too wound up for nothing. Don't get into I am better than him type stuff... it really leads no where and if your girl catches on to that it could be an insecurity issue that she sees and it can be a major turn off to her. good luck.
