No offense, but I hate guys like you. You get a little alcohol in your system and suddenly you feel like you can take the world, you ruin peoples nights and usually sooner or later you try to pick a fight with the wrong person and get your face smashed into the pavement.
The "real guys" you don't mess with it at bars and clubs are the ones who don't pay you any attention or attempt to diffuse situations. You might think they are pussies for not fighting, but usually they been in enough fights to know they don't fight unless they have to. I have seen it happen alot especially since I am in a college town.

I'll just look at him and walk away! It's not worth it to fight with that asshole, it will just ruin your night. Instead of having fun.

Prone2rage, dude your response made me laugh, In a respectful way. When i was younger around 15-18 i always had fights. Normally with older people as id go clubs and stuff when i was underage. Then i started boxing and it solved my problem as i would train and never drink or go out to clubs.
I must say though since i stopped boxing and started weights its kept me entertained. Taking meds for rage is pretty intense dude.
Keeping calm and thinking in these situations is the key, its when you go into autopilot the problems start. Well for me anyway..

The fact is thats just the bar environment and as much as people are saying "you're over sensitive" I think your gf was actually just better at judging the undertones of what was said and how it was said.
The guy first should have been told to mind his fvcking business.
BUT in all honesty you will feel bad either way, if you do say something or if you don't. If you said something nasty you may have felt after like you overreacted and if you didnt say something nasty you may have felt like you do now.
This is the way I deal with it, and it has very little to do with speaking.
You know when a puppy shits on the floor and for a second you wanna bash its face in but then you realize how cute it is and that is just doesnt know any better?
Thats kinda how you need to treat this. I think the guy was drunk and wished he had some tail to take home, he saw the tail you were taking home, then was jealous, but you need to see this is the way he was "accepting defeat".
No more no less.

I agree Ninja. But there are alot of dorks and socially inept people out there that don't necessarily have malicious intentions. They just don't know how to interact gracefully in some social situations.
If that's the case, I don't think they deserve to be humiliated or threatened. Maybe just gently reminded where good social boundaries are.

If everybody got into a altercation(verbal or physical) with every asshole that is out there then most decent/normal people would spend every day fighting. Somethings you should just laugh off. Imo this is one of them.
