cocaine&heroin are made by man.. man takes something that is actually good "coca&poppies" in it's natural form and perverts it with chemicals to make something evil and destructive.

It may well be that we do not know that intended purpose for cocaine or poppy. Or maybe we do and it is used appropriately, but people have taken it and turned it into something they can abuse. Additionally I have not mentioned the earth being created by magic.
Animal of all kinds have changed but I will not concede that new animals have arisen from old animals into something different. I have taken historical geology and while there are some intersting theories, I can't see where it can possible be all true. It is truly evolution at its best (science that is) it is constantly changing.

obviously the world wasnt made 5000 years ago. we have very accurate dating techniques to prove that. that all came from the bible. there are many inconsistencies in the bible. i believe there are also many truths too..

Try reading it, you be forgiven for thinking Steven King wrote it. I'm serious
-
aaaahhhh, yes! I was waiting for my buddy Flagg to chime in.
Couldn't of said it better.
"Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones. I am not afraid."

what about death then.. seems so final if there is no hope of nothing more... kind of sucks if you think about getting old, frail, senile, and then comes eternal nothingness.

personally I have the faith that there is more after this life.. If there isn't, this life would be just a really cruel joke.

anybody thinks otherwise talk to me when you are laid up in a nursing home pissin your pants and rotting away at 75 years of age... we all are headed that way unless you die by unnatural causes
-
Well, just like any other living thing that dies, you just become part of the carbon cycle.
Saying there is life after death is like saying there is "life before life".
c'mon... Doesn't make much sense.
But then part of me wants to think there just might be something. So, Im not scared of death, but yet, curious... Not that I want to die, lol, but when my time is up, my time is up. I dont want to be a vegetable living off a machine.

Why do us humans have to go somewhere when we die?
Some think we are so high and mighty, but really we are meaningless on the big scale. Take us off the earth, and the earth actually repairs itself in a few hundred years and lives on.
Take something small, or what you might call "meaningless", like bees off the earth, or the decomposers of the planet, and the whole ecosystem is likely to go out of whack...

Okay, so what im getting from this is it was okay to use Wheat, Barley and Rye back in the bronze age to make alcohol but it's not okay to use Poppies to make heroin? Alcohol is abused as well. And I can't believe you will not accept that Elephants and Rhinos are decendants from Mammoths and Wooly Rhinos, im gobsmacked. And what im also getting from your post is while you believe some Geology, because you don't understand all of it then none of it can be true.
However, I have shown you evidence to the contrary. You yourself have looked at geology and believe some and not enough to believe in all of it. By that way of thinking how can you simply accept God simply cause the Bible says's it's true. Where's the evidence to back it up? You're going on FAITH? But you have no faith in science despite evidence to the contrary.
You are so one sided my friend.

These sort of topics always whip me up BigSexy. That's a nice quote by the way, because surely any just Gods in this world would judge a people on their merits, not their faith.
Life is not easy to figure out. Science is doing a pretty good job at doing it though but the scientific method is not easy, nor are the results it reaps. But it IS peeling away the thick layer of ignorance from peoples eyes. Science needs to get more limelight personally and you're right what you said further down, we are completely insignificant in the grand scale of things. We're still a warm blooded animal. Yes a clever one that's figured out how to go to the moon and make XBox 360's, but we're still animals at the end of the day that will die of old age or other causes just like anything else.
And now im late for my Ecology lecture! Catch you laters BigSexy!

You have a propensity towards trying to demean people by saying things to try to argue your point that are quite frankly adolescent. You have your opinions and I have the ability to respect that without trying to say that you are stupid. I think you do not have that same ability. Additionally you try to assert what you percieve as my beliefs without my input on the subject, why is that? Is it that you think all people that are Christian have the exact same beliefs? By the way, you have tried to strengthen your position by saying that you have presented "evidence to the contrary" but you have presented nothing but your words which I do not recognize as authoritative enough to accept as evidence of anything.
I can see by your posts that you are not ready to debate me on this subject since the fundamental elements of respect are not evident in you tone, and your arguements are drawn from sources that have nothing to do with this exchange. Good luck to you, I bow out of any further communication with you on this subject.

Go pick up the latest copy of National Geographic. The front cover is all about the highly preserved mumified remains of a MAMMOTH. Now that isn't a word i've made up, it's a mammal that existed over 10,000 years ago, it's what the elephants of today evolved from. I mean what else do you want me to present to you?
Edit: Please point out where my prospenisty to demean people has come from. By saying people you are assuming more people than you. And how have I been adolescent to you or demeaning? Im having a debate with you and frankly you are ducking questions and statements that I am presenting to you.Last edited by Flagg; 05-11-2009 at 10:28 AM.

Everything is scientific Theories. Which came 1st? The chicken or the egg? Everything that is known or unknown are due to Theorizing about events and taking facts and putting them into more theories.
The scientific worl will be turned upside down if it is found that two people have the exact genetic code. As is theory now, no two people have the same dna. Just as everyone posts ideas, this is how thoughts and knowledge is passed in the world of science. Its all ideas. We cannot promise that Men and Dino's did not coexist because there is no actual record. Theories my friends......
Knowing is half the battle (Goooo Joe!)

Similiar gentic make up, Your taking the term Identical too loosely. Identical in appearance. DNA is what makes us all different. It can seperate identical twins from which actually did the Rape or Murder (To use an example).
Your DNA is your unnofficial ID.

DNA is too complex to perfectly duplicate. My Point was that everything is Theory. So far the DNA theory holds true, But what would happen if someone is found to have a perfect match? That would throw alot out of the window. May never happen, Just a thought.

Mr Jfalco? I need not make anything up. You take the time to research, then come to me with your inconclusive findings. At that point I will humble myself and bow out!
I love how people question someone elses comment because they choose not to take the Time to Research.

Ok vpchill, I did your homework for you. The slight differences in genetic make-up of identical twins is actually cutting edge science and was first discovered in 2008 by genetisist carl brunder. Quite the opposite of what you have previously stated, the idea that there are not two people with the same DNA is a new idea.
