We have an amish community up by me and a huterite(sp) community as well. I personally just think its disgusting to try to cash in on a culture like that.

All of our furniture is amish and my grandfather had many dealings with them as well. They even came to his funeral and thats very rare that they go to an englishmans funeral.

Also it says that pudgy one wasnt baptized in the church well they would have nothing to do with him and wouldnt even speak to him so that alone have him handle "business" and by the looks of it they only thing he could handle is a whopper.

And he also knows how to blackmail some of the important Church leaders.
In the Amish community... the church leaders are the end all be all. So if they say they approve of him... the ppl will listen.

Also... not every Amish community is the same.
The North Dakota Amish are different than the OH Amish who are different than the PA Amish.
They follow most of the same church rules but live sort of differently.
