I used to live in Lancaster where the tv show is filmed.

Some of it is true.

The one guy with all the guns is Mennonite. They can have cars and guns.

The "leader" is Amish but never Baptized... which would normally mean he wouldnt be associated with.
But he takes care of the people by helping them financially and protecting them.
And he also knows how to blackmail some of the important Church leaders.
In the Amish community... the church leaders are the end all be all. So if they say they approve of him... the ppl will listen.

Also... not every Amish community is the same.
The North Dakota Amish are different than the OH Amish who are different than the PA Amish.
They follow most of the same church rules but live sort of differently.

I agree with you on alot of it but this shit is staged. I agree that there are different ordnungs and yes they do set up there own insurance etc. The existance of the amish mafia is fake. **** they were dumb enough to call it "dutch" I have never once heard it shortened to dutch when speaking to an englishman. Its "pennsylvania dutch" which is just a dialect of german.

However I have been wrong before so dukki could bt 100% right..

I also want to say I don't respect the amish religion or anything of that nature. They are honest in business and deffiantly have a level of compassion but overall, I can't respect the amish church, etc.
