free pizza day
the first monday of every month is free pizza day at my gym.. they get a crap load of pizza and stack up all the boxes of pizza on a table thats in between where you workout and the locker rooms..
the pizza isn't tempting at all to me but i just have to shake my head at the idea of my gym giving away a ton of free greasy pizza

"Don't grunt in PLANET FITNESS"

A correctional officer is escorted, by police, for grunting.
THIS WAS THE POLICE REPORT: "...Grunting while working out."

There was this chick in my gym yesterday who sounded just like she was doing a porn movie. She was doing leg lifts and as they started burning she'd start ewwwing and awwwing real loud.
In a way it was funny, but after a while I wanted to tell her to shut up.
I think grunters are attention whores. It is easily suppressed and unnecessary.

What a bunch of idiots. I noticed the manager isn't in shape at all, so she wouldn't know the first thing about pushing the limits. This is one of those "politically correct" places, where being fat is really okay, and nobody wants to give the impression that getting in shape makes a person dig real deep. Any high intensity set is going to cause a reaction, as for it hurts and it demands 100% to achieve success. If I only wish that I could fire her sorry ass!

Exactly, having the "fatties" approve is what they want. It's all corporate BS with some bean counters looking to save their bottom line at any cost, along with discarding the fundamental truth of what's really needed to stay healthy. There's a science to this. They know that if 10 new sign ups come in today, maybe 7 will be really out of shape. Probably 3 or 4 will be hubba-bubba out of shape. They know the weakness of these people coming in the door, and they also know that "x" amount will probably quit after the first month, because traditional facilities are usually very serious about health all the way around. Take out the grunting and then you take out the intimidation and perception that it's hard work. Then, add in some pizza and goodies, now we've manipulated these people to think working out is great and easy. Thus, the amount of cancellations will drop in half. It's all about the money to them, nothing more and nothing less. Majority wins and the finance people know how to capitalize on it.

I like planet fitness cause it's soooo cheap, I can do almost everything as any other gym plus I get unlimited tanning
it's 24 hrs and 1 mile from my house
I can bring guests
and there are decent girls to look at
but it's quite clear their business model is to sign up fat people and auto deduct from their checking account...and those fat people never show up except on sign up day. The free pizza probably helps people fall off the wageon so they keep paying and stop showing up.
I see fat people at the sign up counter, but very few working out.
the dumbells go only to 75 and they don't allow dead lifts
everything else is pretty normal. I was only spoken too once about noise...I was doing butterflys and apparently clicking the weights together???
I'm pretty quiet when I lift though, it's not for the hard core that needs to make sex/karate sounds durring work out.

That's like saying my vette shop just needs good parts, they don't need a manager who knows the ropes. The manager at my gym is in shape, and I see her there working out on her days off. She sets the bar for the rest of the employees, and she gives the customers a realistic perspective of what they are there to achieve. She is in touch with what's really going on out on the floor, which includes equipment concerns too. Obviously, someone out of shape is probably someone out of touch with that place, sitting at a desk, which is why stupid rules about grunting get issued to begin with. Tell that to the man who got escorted out of the place in the video, and see if he thinks a well run gym is based on equipment only!

I agree... I hate going in to my gym and seeing trainers that don't look fit. They should be in there working out too.
I went to a place called freedom fitness and got kicked out for grunting while on the squat racks (Which were later removed)
NO Gallon water jugs, No weight lifting belts, No Grunting, No Cut off shirts...
"Um...what's a lunk alarm?" I asked the friendly young woman processing my membership.
"Oh," she said. "I was ... going to explain that. You see -- we don't cater to bodybuilders or weight lifters....”
The way she said it, the edge in her voice, would have suited a conversation about rapists and child molesters...
"So, in order to sort of keep out those types, we have the Lunk Alarm," she said. "A Lunk is anybody who drops weights loudly, who grunts while working out or who judges other people."
"Well, we don't want that," I said.
"No, we don't," she agreed. "So, if someone does those things, that light goes off and there's an alarm and we go over and..."
"And you publicly mock and shame them?" I asked.
"Well...yes," she said. "I guess."
"Here in the 'judgment free zone?'" I asked.
"Yeah," she said. "I guess it is ironic."

I dont know Planet Sh$tness, but my gym is nice. The only thing we cant do is talk on cell phones in the gym areas (halls and lockerrooms are ok). What is with no 1 gallon water jugs??? My gym gives out bath towels and sweat cloths! If you want to grunt then grunt lol
