ever watched sport science on discovery channel? They did a workup with pressure sensors and found that, no suprise, rugby players and football players excert the exact same amount of force in a tackle. HOWEVER, football player where pads so that the impact of the force is distributed across a greater area, thus minimizing the effect on the players.

I checked into this..... You sir ARE WRONG.....

Football players exert 3 times MORE force than a rugby player (according to sport science) - it's their pads that help to disperse the force. Now..... keep in mind..... The rugby test was done on two MOVING players. The football test was done on one live player and one stationary dummy. ANYONE whose ever played football knows that hitting a stationary tagert is less painfull than a moving one. One could calculate if both targets in football were moving and hit eachother the force would be much greater than the 4000+ pounds that they tested on the dummy which was also already 3 times greater than the rugby guys.

LOL I have NO BEEF what-so-ever with rugby..... It's tough as balls. I've played with a friend who's on a rugby team.

My only point was to show that without pads..... one can't hit as hard. So to call american football gay because they wear pads is obsurd..... They hit harder than rugby players BECAUSE they have pads. If the rugby players hit THAT hard wthout pads..... people would be dead.

Rugy = Hold back maximum impact/force in order to not die.

Football = wear pads to exert maximum impact/force.

I never said they did...... I was just talking about the football test. They proved a football player generates 3 times the force of a rugby player. The rugby guys were moving in opposite directions tho not directly at eachother so the hit COULD HAVE been worse if not for the bad pass. The football player hit a NON-moving object..... which naturally makes the force smaller than two opposite moving objects..... yet it was STILL 3 times that of a Rugby hit.

The football players don't always have two full force players hitting...... but it does happen. So that force COULD BE 6 times greater than a rugby player if all the conditions were right.
