The truth of the matter is England are nowhere near as good as people believe. World Class? I don't think so. It's even more ludicrous when Rooney is likened to the next Pele! What a complete insult to Pele.
Don't worry, after we get knocked out im sure the players will simply have to whiz off to the Caribean or some other exotic location to get over losing while Joe Bloggs wonders why he bothered saving up for two years to watch this shower of arseholes.

I agree England team is not the best among all, not even if the players are taken individually...
But from this assumption to say that England is not capable to qualify for
the round of 16!
They have the skill to go ahead and as far as I am concerned they are even better than Germany.
They just need to will to win, that is the point.

Even though USA got screwed out of another goal today, we finish #1 in group c!
Ghana is going down!

The USA have shown the most heart out of all teams in this world cup. Good luck to the Brits taking on Germany.

It is a pleasure to watch the USA team playing.
They really believe in themselves and it is nice to behold athletes who love soccer coming from a country where that sport is unknown to the majority.
Last year they lost in the final match and they did a great tournament.

I never liked Lippi, not even in 2006 where he made several mistakes in spite we won.
This year he showed to the world he needs to go in pension.

The big game is on the 25th the group G game with Brazil and Portugal . . both top 3 teams in the world. that should be almost like the finals

I agree. They needed a playmaker other than Pirlo just in case he got hurt which happened and Montolivo isn't there yet. Then he plays Iaquinta and Pepe on all matches when he has Camoranesi and Quagliera on the bench. I don't get it. Gilardino is half the striker Dinatale is but somehow he started most of the games. I would have won in 2006 with that team. It was the right time for a group of players that had been playing together since under 21 world cup and were peaking at the right time. And don't get me started on Cananvaro, he was way too old and got beat the entire World Cup.

So happy italy are out.

That is my point, perfectly agreed!
Also, what about those who he left home?
AS Roma did a great champioship and it is one of the few teams where almost only Italians are palying.
Who was the only one convoked? De Rossi... and what about the rest of them?... Totti, Perrotta, Toni...
Cassano, Balotelli, to name others from Sampdoria and Inter.
We need new names on the team to have a new future, like Germany did.

I do like Cassano and Balloteli, that was my point when I said they needed someone other than Pirlo for creative work. Perrota I didn't follow much so I can't say and Totti I hate to my core. He's never done anything for the national team. He is the Beckham of Italian football. How do you like the USA against Ghana?

Also, either Cassano and Balotelli are not playmakers like Pirlo.
If you wanted to have someone to take Pirlo's position, Totti was the right person since with AS Roma he plays either as a playmaker and as a forward.
Actually, even with the Italian team he mostly played as a playmaker...

ronaldo is a over rated wanker who i hate with a passion. he just proved in this world cup that hes shite and only good against shite oposition and hides away and acts like a spoilt child against big teams

Now they named Cesare Prandelli as the head coach for Italy. Hopefully they could reload like Germany does and not pick a bunch of have been from Juventus plus some random players to compose a roster.
After seeing the round of 16 games I have a feeling Spain or Netherlands is gonna win. I have not seen ball control like Spain's midfield ever. They did not lend the ball to Portugal at all. All bets are off if something happens to Villa.

Well Spain and Netherlands it is. I couldn't be happier, we will have a new World Champion. I hope the orange can pull it but it will be very tough. This is as far as my predictions go.

whats the deal with that octopus picking the winning teams?
weird... crazy germans
-
07-11-2010, 03:40 AM #192
i hope the octupus is wrong with the finals becausr i want the Netherlands to win it all. before the 1st game was played me and a bunch of friends who were playing fantasy soccer with me picked the team they thought would win it all and i choose Holland. i got torn up for saying the Dutch would make it to the finals. everyone thought i was nuts and really laughed at me when i said they would knock Brazil out.
im a die hard Italy fan but i knew they wouldnt do well this year because the coach took all the old players so i jumped on the Dutch band wagon and has been rolling ever since.
i like spain and wouldnt mind seeing them win there 1st title if they were playing anyone but Holland. Both teams have awesome mid-fielders and it should be a great game. spain definatly has an edge over the Dutch because Casillas is the best goal tender in the world but i hope Robben, Sneijder and van Persie can sneak a few past him
