Started over 3 or 4 times bro, all I can say is Thank God for muscle memory. Getting the motivation to get back going is the hardest, when you start noticing the changes, it will drive you that much harder. Good luck

I have no doubt you will regain your old form. You're intelligent and I think with you getting back to your roots in bjj that will keep you moving forward. I know you will do it buddy.

Hey there mn...I am pretty sore today after chest and bi & tris. I had to will myself out of bed this morning to do cardio but I did it. I usually take Wednesdays off for weight training but think i'll either do shoulders or legs.

You gotta do what you love. I know this for the most part is a bodybuilding board but if your goals are more bjj focused or whatever go for it people are going to support you. i remember a while back you got a little disgruntled with your bodybuilding routine and were much happier getting back to your roots if you think that will make it easier to get back into the swing of things. Also stop lying we all know you went to bjj practice with a tapout rashguard and a fresh mohawk lol.

Ninja,
Wie gehts, mein bruder?
I have had at times where I took of because off for injury. One of my shoulder injuries I was out for almost a complete year.
Over the spring and summer I took a total of about 4 months of because I was just to busy and to stressed to worry about diet, cardio and lifting. I started back in the fall, and it comes back pretty quickly.
For the first few weeks you will feel like shit, once your body adapts your gains will hit like a dump truck.
Let me know if you need help with anything.

One other thing,
Dont try to go balls to the wall for the first month. You will get super sore and burned out and possibly injury yourself. Just try to make nice steady gains, so that your body has time to adapt and repair from the training sessions each week.“If you can't explain it to a second grader, you probably don't understand it yourself.” Albert Einstein

There are probably more individuals than we think that have walked that road; just few have been self accepting enough to eventually swallow their pride and admit. Happens to even the most dedicated at times. Takes that pivotal moment for you to realize...and glad you came to that point!
Most...like us; find it even more difficult than your average joe. We were all envied at one point...and NOW look at us. The looks are hard to take...mentally and we fall further into seclusion!
Keep up with it muriloninja!!!

Nothing to it but to do it. At least you have all the prior knowledge from before and places like this to refer back to instead of stumbling and fumbling around like a good portion of people that would like to get into shape do... Keep us updated!!

Cool, keep us updated. I'm on my 2nd week and its a slow process but if I keep going it will get better and better each week and then i'll be back to full training and intensity. You know the kind of training where you do a set and are like "hell yeah" and go for it again? Well now its like "oh, christ"...then huff and puff..rest...rinse and repeat.
Actually, i've been feeling better this week in that regard.***No source checks!!!***

Good to hear...I have been doing Karate 2-3 days a week so my cardio seems ok....It has mainly been my crappy diet and drinking way too much. Monday I did a workout with just clean & presses and abs....could barley move this morning....Crazy what different exercises will do to the Bod.

Dude nothing sucks more than having to go back to the gym after a long ass time. I was at 165lbs 10% bf (im only 5'5). For my size i was lifting some pretty decent weight ... stopped working out jan of 2010 didn't get back to it till nov 2010. IT SUCKS theres no nice/easy way to put it... I felt like a bitch being barely able to bench the 70lb dumbells and only squat 225lbs with a pathetic 185 deadlift. I dropped from 165 to 140 and my chest sagged I had a nice tire around my gut I looked like a mess. Just get to it work it out and don't think about anyone there. I blast my music ignore people put myself in hell basically so i can get in and out. Im back up to 155lbs and close to my old max weights.. still struggling but at least im not fat/chubby. After 2 weeks its like the rust in your joints comes off and you start to feel better. Stick to it and lift those weights
