best guard/defence dog

Terrible with families and kids. Herding dogs are never good family dogs. While very intelligent and loyal, they tend to nip a lot. They like to establish themselves in the pack very early and put themselves in the Beta role. Pretty much one person dogs (will usually only listen to one person).

I have a Border Collie and it's true about the nipping, especially as pups. They need a ton of training early on.

My other dog is a pit and this guy is about as docile as they come.

belgium malinois.. basically a smaller smarter version of the german sheperd.. there is a breeder here in ireland.. i was thinking of getting one myself but wouldn't be right living in city center and having a dog.
