Rugby World Cup 2011
wahoo, proper sport on tv for afew weeks!!!
not the easiest game to predict, and although it pains me to say it, i think England are dark horse this time around. Ireland would need a hell of a step up from the warm up series.
the usual hype surrounds New Zealand but they always seem to crash and burn. An on form French team are unstoppable imho.
whats your prediction and why?

South Africa.....Go Boks!!
Yea, I'm going to be supporting the Springboks, not only because I live in Africa and have been supporting them for the past 2 years, but also because they are the current cup holders and most of the team is returning from when they won it in '07. Competition would have to be New Zealand, and rightfully so; I have tons of respect for the team. Others would be France and Australia.
Either way, it's going to be a great cup. May the best team win!

All Blacks! Actually I don't care who wins, just excited to see some great rugby on TV and do some drinking while I'm at it.

For the world cup, I'd love nothing more than to see All Blacks/Wallabies final. I just could'nt stand to put up with all my kiwi mates if they get up. You have to think All Blacks are the favourites at home, but they are renowned to choke at the end.
I'm still going to tip them to win. France are dark horse to make the semi's. If you're into betting, back Australia and NZ to make it out of groups without a loss.
Go Wallabies!

the south african team who faced Oz in the tri nations wasnt even a 2nd team, it was a third team, they were holding back for the world cup, they are going to be a force to reckon with also.
for betting i reckon england and france are the worthwhile bet, good odds, well there was last week anyhow

I think it will be NZ and a number of these four teams in the final. England, SA, The OZzzies and the English. I don't think Ireland will do great even though I would want them to do well.

Yeah I agree, and alot of their plays would be saved for the big games(it was Italy). But there was some sloppy passes and loose rucks. I'm not much of a rugby fan unless tri nations or world cup TBH. I much prefer rugby league. Rugby is played by the rich private school boys here. O'connor, Beale and Digby are the guys that can change the game for us.

England usually have a shaky start in the world cups but have a look at our previouse finishes,we usually make the quarters, semis and last two made the final as well as winning it in 2003 i think?
weve had a bad few years tho,not enough roids lol......................_____________________

what you reckon to the match balls? very unlike sexton and wilkinson to be missing kicks like that, even o'gara missed a bread and butter kick. wilkinson being his usual humble self blamed himself, but i think the balls have something to do with it. i think we'll be seeing alot more kicks to to lines for line outs next w'end

I've not looked at how the comp plays out with regards to placement within each group.....but that was beyond poor from Oz, I think we threw that game.
But good for the Green men, if another team were to win the cup, I would hope it would be the Irish.
