My girlfriend got jacked for $250, anyone ever use reverse look up sites?

So my girlfriend was going to sell some text books via an ad she placed in craigslist. The guy called from two different numbers prior to meeting. They agreed on the two books for $250, he grabbed the books and took off. All we have are his two phone numbers.

Anyone ever use a phone number reverse look up site? I need to handle his ass.

wow bro that sucks! that shit happens in miami all the time,, craigslist robberies and set-ups. try whitepages.com, most likely though they used a "throw down" or pre-paid cell phone,, which always have fake addys/names.

    good luck

There is an app for Iphone that is called Number Guru. I have looked up numbers that call my phone that I do not know and it usually comes back with a response. Hopefully that helps!

Or he could just hand out an anonymous beating and take whatever the guy has on him...

    Dayum !
Things are so bad...they are stealing Text Books from Students ? ? ?

What you can do...is run his number on the internet....and see what comes up. Do some detective work from there. Call the Cops...Call the Newspapers...and get some publicity (this is newsworthy).

Set him up again...this time with some vids, and eyewitnesses.

Put another ad in with very similar text books and see if the prick bites again. If the books are for a particular course, see what other books he may require and set a trap.

She obviously needs to recognise his voice on the phone, or give you a description. He may not even bother if a bloke answers, so get a female to answer the phone, same as before.

There are plenty of free USA databases to trawl (reverse lookup) online. Go through them all.

Where did she meet him? CCTV?

How did he get there? CCVT?

What did he say on the phone exactly?

    Write it all down.

that's what the police are for... have them do it...

If you do it' and he goes to the police.. guess who gets the felony charge.. especially with evidence like a posting on a public forum..

You guys live in a fantasy world if you think the cops down here are gonna go chase some kid down for stealing $250 in text books from my gf. I've dealt with the police many times regarding crimes that happen in my neighborhood, and if you don't hand them actual evidence and the location of the suspect they are worthless.

Anyway, as it turns out when you **** over a lot of people your world gets really small. My gf put out an ad warning people that the guy using the phone numbers will steal your stuff and run so if he calls in response to your ad don't deal with him. She got some responses from people that he has done this to. It also turns out she is friends with a guy that works with this kid. So now I know where he works. My brother has been working with a PI and is going to let me borrow one of these magentic gps units they put on the bottoms of cars, so I'll throw one on his car while he's at work and get a pattern for what he does, where he goes and what times he goes there.

Also, my girlfriends cousin is a police officer but is out of town on vacation, and he's kind of a bitch so I'm not counting on him for help, but I'll ask anyway. Can't hurt.

The great part is that he doesn't know who I am, and he's done this to other people so I could be anyone, so it's not like he can call the cops and be like "help, some guy I don't know just ****ed me up in the bathroom of a Subway and took my wallet"

I'm going to let things cool off for a week or so before I do anything, let him get nice and comfortable in his complacency. So yes, as mentioned above he will be getting an anonymous beat down and I'm going to take whatever he has on him at the time. This isn't about the money. I gave my gf the $250 so she can go buy her new text books, this is about a scumbag jacking college girls trying to make a few bucks, and beyond that it's about he made my gf cry...unacceptable.

well then, don't be surprised if you are facing felony charges, that's how we do things in a civilized society.. and camera's are everywhere..

or maybe he'll just produce a gun and put you in a wheelchair for the rest of your life with no ability to have sex..

Or maybe he was so desperate to feed his kids that's what he's turned to..

who knows, maybe Obama's plan to give him money failed and he's just out getting his..

I don't know what part of the US you live in but a little assault and $250 robbery are not on most cops radar unless you live in a small town. If you cant go to them with actual hard evidence they wont even bother investigating. noooo where a hat and pull it down low on your face, wear long sleeves pants and chuck them after.

Yes if they see it, they wont waste time with an investigation unless you beat them within an inch of life.

Yeah theres a reason I'm going to establish his patterns...not looking to be filmed by any cameras. I live in Miami, FL...theres millions of people here, and a lot of small townships/cities with a lot of small police departments that don't do a lot of sharing with eachother and find actual police work abhorrent beyond giving speeding tickets. Add to that the fact that this kid probably is a criminal in more ways than one, and he probably doesn't want cops asking him a lot of questions or poking around his daily life...I'm not really worried about police being involved. Even further, he has no idea who I am, that I exist, or even that I'm looking for him.

Besides an ass kicking might do him some good.

My lack of confidence in the police revolves around a situation we had in my neighborhood a couple years ago with a series of real, no-shit home invasions. The guys were busted when I observed a guy looking in the windows of my neighbors house and I hid in the bushes and videotaped him, and his car. I then used my family members that work in Federal Law Enforcement to run his plates, went to the guys house, took pictures of a cargo container in his backyard, and gave that all to the detectives in a nice folder. The next day they came back to me and were all excited "We got him!!!"...yeah guys...YOU got him. Good job! Thanks for driving through the neighborhood once a night, it really helped!

Sorry she had to learn the hard way about dealing with the public especially on craigslist. My only question to you is did you know she was going to do this in advance? An if so why you didn't at least warn her of possible consequences and offer to go with her. I agree the guy needs to be stopped, but remember if you confront him and he dies by accident or otherwise, you will have messed your life up for good over a piece of crap. Contact the authorities as well as craigslist and let them know about the incident and write it off as lesson learned and be thankful it ended as well as it did especially in these days and times.

    Yeah, I agree mate.

Give the prick a proper hiding and take his stuff off him.

Stealing off young vulnerable birds is terrible. Its like stealing off the elderly. Doesnt fly with me.

He'd end up with a rearranged face for mugging my girlfriend.

    Its just money.....

watch out on the gps thing though I can't imagine its legal to track someone with a gps....not sure but check out the laws and make sure there isn't some stupid law that could possibly be a felony.

But when you think about it dude again its just money

no need to invest time or negative energy continuing to the ****ed up shit in the world. Just try to be a good person and try not let those that are not so good influence you to do the same

This is the issue with the united states my friend. Zero tolerance for fighting in schools, anti-bullying legislation and a kinder gentler army. All reasons why the United States will no longer be on top of the world.

I've spent many years hunting people down that were trying to hide because they owed me money. In all probability, these would be cell numbers and therefore very difficult to associate a number with an address. However, you can try this:
    http://www.reversephonedirectory.com/
    and give it a shot.

do you know the guys name?
    still have his phone number?

have a different lady call him and very mysteriously ask to meet him at the cafeteria (local college or university). She should describe what she will be wearing, and then when he approaches her, you grab him from around the corner, along with your GF who can ID him. Grab him by the scruff and haul him into the deans office. He won't pay you, but the dean could put him on academic suspension.

Pretty hick, but it sometimes works, especially if the kid thinks the chic is some kind of secret admirer. She should call from a different cell# also.

Grab him by the scruff and haul him into the deans office. He won't pay you, but the dean could put him on academic suspension.

Pretty hick, but it sometimes works, especially if the kid thinks the chic is some kind of secret admirer. She should call from a different cell# also.
Yeah...they are both cell phones, one is a Verizon account. I have a family friend that works in a State LE office checking on him...we know the area of Miami he lives in now, just trying to narrow it down. My girlfriends cousin is a police officer in the part of Miami this guy, we told him about what happened, he confirmed him and his macho cop buddies will become very close friends with this guy as soon as we can nail down an address for him.

    Soon enough...

Watch him for a couple days see where he goes , see when his neibors are home best bet try to get him when it is dark out . Dont use anything but your hands because if you did get caught the fine is more with a weapon and you dont need that wear a mask . Best bet get him in a parking lot with no one around . If you no when he gets home you could be waiting with mask on . Wear ufc fighting gloves you will want to throw more punchs on this dude if your hands dont hurt from hitting him. Work this dude over man he needs it ......

DONE! Haha...managed to recover almost half of the value of the books. Hopefully this punk will now think twice before going around jacking people, probably not though.
