I have only driven one Viper, it belongs to a friend. 91 all original and like yours showroom condition. Is it me or does it feel weird when you are driving it. I felt like I was being pushed over to the outside of the car, like I was leaning against the door or over the wheels instead more in a central position. One of the best races I had in my 91 VR4 stock at the time, now 400hp ATW was against a Viper. He walked away from me on the straights above 160 mph but I was able to take him in some of the turns. I passed him in some S turns and took a caution 60 mph turn at 120. I had to take the next exit because my foot wouldn't stop shaking due to adrenaline after the turn. LOL
What a lot of people don't realize is that the original idea for the viper was to make it as much like an old muscle car as possible with a modern look...so not a lot of bells and whistles including traction control. This car is insane to drive! Scary as HELL!!! Mess up for a split second and BANG YOU'RE DEAD. I remember reading here a few years back that the Viper is the most wrecked sports car in the nation. People that have no business getting behind the wheel of one do and end up crashing. There's so much crazy ass torque on the viper than if you give it too much gas in a curve it puts you in a spin quick. So...long story short there's little room for fvck ups.

Now to your questions. I honestly don't think there's a lot of cars out there that could take me in the straights. It's just to damn fast; however, I'm almost certain that you or anyone else could take me in the turns. I'm too scared to push it in the turns. Now that's not to say that a better driver than myself couldn't do it. They can. Recently on Top Gear the Viper took 1st place in track...this was over Lamborghini's, Ferrari's, EVO's, you name it. So it goes to say that yes....if you're a freakin track god that can handle the Viper in the curves then you'll be hard to be beat. I'M NOT THAT GUY!!! lol

I actually like the seating position of the Viper...I LOVE the car. It get's so many looks. The only reason I'm selling it and the business is because my girl and I just bought some land in Arkansas and want to start building a house soon. The shitty thing about owning a business is it's about impossible to get a loan now...that means we'll be building the house with cash. So my toys gotta go for now!!! Besides having a Viper in Arkansas doesn't mean jack shit. If I wanta impress people there I need a lifted 4x4 truck pulling a 70k bass boat.

Exactly and especially with the older ones. The newer ones have come a long ways though with traction/handling capabilities so it's a much different creature compared to the early models. I have only driven one of the first gens, 91.

The *******/Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 was ahead of it's time when it came to handling. AWD/All wheel Drive, AWS/All wheel steering, electronic anti sway. With the right tires it was damn scary how it handles on turns.

I was able to take my buddy in the 1/4 mile in the straights but that was his stock 91 Viper vs my modified upgraded 91 Twin turbo 400 HP at the wheels so it was not stock to stock. The VR4 stock top speed is 176 factory but I have only been up to around 160 mph, that was fast enough. LOL My best 1/4 time is only 11.9 (dont remember mph) but it's a daily driver so I dont do much track or racing.

Yeah I have only driven the Viper 1x so I'm sure you get use to it. Like any new/different car it felt strange. To bad about you having to sell it. Dont let it go to cheap, there are still people out there with money. My buddy bought his for 1/2 price of new 9 years ago and got it on eBay. LOL I helped him with the purchase since he was a newbie but the sale was less than 100 miles from him so he went to see it first and drove it home. I think it only had 15k on it. The top is still in it's factory bag, never put on. LOL
