    Debate on Human origins

Had a friend just share this with me. It's kinda long, but it's definitely worth it:

Nice find D7M, just watching this now.

Shame the late great Christopher Hitchens couldn't have been there instead of Dawkins.

Just finished watching this, thoroughly enjoyable.

I have a new found respect for Rowan Williams. Very intelligent man.

There was one point raised which i've always believed in, that I too believe that the universe is crawling with life, but if we are to believe that something like the Rare Earth Hypothesis, is one of very few ways, such a rare phenomena that life can form on a planet, then it's highly likely that everyone is too far apart to ever meet. So if that is the case, should we not in essence treat the universe as if we were alone?

before we can talk about (seriously) the rare life or the rare earth hypothesis, i'm thinking might be a good idea to find life elsewhere first? It will happen, im sure of it. just not sure when.

I guess for now...at least until the time scientists spend more time (and money!) researching ways to get farther in space than they do growing balding hair and maintaining erections.
