Sad but true, this has had a huge impact on our society. We all are practically slaves because of it. But but obama promises to teach people to fish, have you heard his add campaigns to increase people attending college, well imo its just to further force us into being slaves, and drive the middle class down further.

Yes but I dont think everyone should go to college. #1 if you cant afford to go to college you should work for a few years first and save up instead of the government providing low interest loans giving the schools an excuse to raise prices because they know kids will just borrow to get in and it has destroyed a lot more kids/careers than it ever helped. There are kids borrowing/owing over 100K getting a degree in social services that only pay 30k a year. How they hell will they pay that back? They should NOT allow loans for things like that but they do. It's no different than the housing bubble. Everyone qualified for a home loan FAR beyond their means.
Everything the government sticks their nose in supposedly to help people in the way of social services, loans, bail outs has backfired and hurt society or at least only promoted more laziness and poverty. All they have done is make it easier for people to remain poor, less incentive to strive for personal gains. Why work for $20 hr when you can stay home and get $15 hr?Last edited by lovbyts; 06-20-2012 at 06:55 AM.

After carefully reading all the posts here and studying all candidates I think DanB is the obvious choice.

I agree with you, but lets look at the other side, not too long ago, only the rich went to college (in my lifetime) and the poor were left with no access to that education and thus no path to the "american Dream"
Lets talk about the american dream...
To have the opportunity options to if effort is applied to do and achieve great things.. sounds simple doesn't it??
But what happens?? life, babies and so forth.. choices..
I also don't believe in keeping the infirm/weak alive, both young and old.. but that's along the same lines as "everyone should not go to college" thought process. The answer to your every question

Well honestly college means very little anymore, the pay isn't that much better than a lot of labor intensive positions, and in some cases there are college required careers that pay less. Unless you get a master's degree or higher. Like what has been said it is making hte middle class poorer, and giving others the illusion of achieving the american dream.
I have no problem with education in general, but soon instead of people being adults at 18 and after high school, they won't be adults and out of "college" till 22-23. Besides you can learn a lot more with self study and more specific classes. Sure you get a general education, but we are wasting productivity imo.

I have been a registered Republican since I was 18, but changed to Independent 5 years ago. I don't want anyone to think I'm missing the points on both sides, but IMO the far left, while they have some good talking points, is closed-minded, radical and borderline un-American. I read an article recently where leaders of this party called our country indistinguishable from brutal dictatorships! This country was built from people who worked hard, made good decisions and reaped the benefits of their labor. The hard workers grew rich, the lazy became poor. The democrats are now pushing this socialistic way of life that will only weaken us as a country and, at the end of the day, the hard workers will give less effort because the lazy are reaping some of their benefits. Everyone will be mediocre and that is unacceptable.
in the same article, I read where they accused the Republicans of creating the recession by deregulating the banking industry. How the hell can they accuse the conservatives of intentionally "creating a severe recession" by deregulating the banking industry" when it was President Clinton who signed that legislation into law? What the hell is that crap?
And sure, let's make a big deal out of water boarding some terrorists who came onto our soil and killed thousands of our people. We haven't had another successful attack yet, and I'd bet we got some pretty good intel with those tactics. This president can't even seem to get his army and secret service personnel to behave properly so this is a huge problem. So no, I'm not voting for Obama. Would definitely vote for DanB first.
Here's a pretty good clip that puts this whole taxation subject into perspective for the long term... Btw, Arnold has a cameo in this clip lol.

I'm voting for Obama because he knows what's best for me, I lack the critical thinking and the "inside" information that would allow me to know what he knows and thus what he does is always best for me. The Unions are hiring so I don't have to worry about that, and if those &*^*(&(^$( republicans stop me from getting a job Barry says i can come stay with him
The Government has finally made it so I am taken care of from cradle to grave... and they know better than i do if i'm suppose to have that medical treatment, after all what good will I be after 55 yrs old anyway..The answer to your every question

5) invite pro bodybuilders to the white house instead of rappers n basketball players
6) impose a tax on ppl who drive hybrids
the list goes on, but you catch my drift.

I agree on all that except your first demand. Why do we want the whores going to the White House? I don't live there.
And I don't care about your 5th demand either, but I don't think I'd notice if they were there or not. Personally, I don't think "musicians" or athletes should be getting invites to the white house anyways. President is there to get the job done. Not to entertain himself.

Agree the government should not creat jobs. But that is what he is trying to do. Get out of the way and make it easier for people like me to do that. The government should also stay out of insurance, health care, babysitting, and every other private sector. Not pick winners and losers not bail out any company. When a government can not put together a balanced budget then you have no right being in any business including mine.
As far as Osama goes we knew where we was in fall 2006 and had him the entire time. We could not kill him before we did because Americans thought this was a one man war. Bush did not kill him for the greater good of this country. He is a very selfless man and did not care about his legacy.Last edited by Coolhand5599; 06-20-2012 at 09:58 PM.

I'll be voting for Obama, and I'll be throwing up a little in my mouth while I do it. Lesser of two evils.
Romney sold his soul and changed his stances on multiple issues to cater the super creepy people who inhabit the insane, über-religious, and intolerant wing of the Republican party just to get nominated. After that show there's no way I'll vote for him. I'm a conservative, not an idiot... I find myself wondering when the two became the same. Would anyone else like to see a real Republican in office?
