Z06 Corvette C6
This is the second car this week that has surprised me. The first was a R33 GTR which surprised me due to the driving position and its steering feel. And now today the Vette really changed my mind on American cars. The last american car I drove was a 2011 Mustang which compared to the Vette was a bucket of bolts.
The vette just handled so well and had such low end power and torque. Good clutch and gearchange(this had a short shifter but was lovely to change gear was like a rifle)
Then, the power, what can I saw about the power, it just is literally on tap. From 1500 rpm, it just pulls like a train The engine is a peach and makes an epic noise too And the quality of the interior is very good to. Over this side of t he world they get bad press for not being as good and euro cars but to be honest the Vette is every bit as good if not better.

yea but you are comparing a 6 cylinder stang to an upper model vette. not a real comparison
If people can't tell your on steroids then your doing them wrong

Those vettes are a thing of beauty

Ohh ya I know, but the Mustang was 8 years newer to be honest should be better and with a newly designed chassis the Mustang should be better and have better feel than an older Vette chassis. The V6 was 310bhp and 280lb/ft of torque if my memory serves me right so not exactly lacking in the power stakes. The V8 in the Vette is class And the V6 in the mustang was surpirsiing too.

Those vettes are a great pickup car. Man no matter your sex they can get you laid..And if your married they can get you divorced as well. So buyer beware....

I still don't feel comfortable in a Vette. My fat self just does not fit in there well. . . . But, fvck yeah that thing hauls ass and drives like it's on rails!
If I had some mad cash I would go for something different. . . . Maybe a R8 or somethin'.

Don't bother with an R8 it will just fall apart haha and expensive to service too. This Vette has upgraded seats they are brillant over the standard ones.

I have owned many exotics and to date, the Z06 was one of my favorite to drive. The power, the "feel" in your body as the RPM's climb, and the overall feel of control is SICK. I sold the car because no matter how much I loved to drive it, I could not stand to see 1000000000000000 of them on the road and have this AWESOME example of a car look like all of the rest of the vettes on the road.
My ALL time favorite car is Ferrari 430 Scuderia. It also has a naturally aspirated 8 and NOTHING that I have driven gives off such an amazing feeling. Its the race version of the standard 430 and "feels" like a full blown race car. If the z06 was as exclusive as the Scuderia and looked more like it, I would trade it in and get 5 in all different colors! haha

My "I'll have one day" is a 1989 25th Yr Ann Lamborghini Countach. Those (to me) started the whole super/exotic car race.

I just read your post about the R8. Last month I sold my V10 because it was too refined and civilized. My opinion of that car is..... FVCKING AMAZING. Supercar looks and performance all wrapped in a first class luxury package. The V8 is a turd. Go with Z06 all day
My issue with R8 was when I got into the car I felt like I got out of my daily driver to get into another. I wanted a more RAW feel. If an everyday supercar is what you want, you can find it in the Audi R8 V10. Good news for buyers is that the market is falling out of the bottom and you can find them like new for 40% off The market for the V8 is horrible and is not a wise choice. I see it dropping more and more and caution to stay away.

The 89 lambo. That is an awesome car to collect, but TOTAL garbage. You will be lucky to drive them 2000 miles before spending huge money on repairs. Horrible to drive (by todays standard), but amazing to collect

Oh ya! P.O.S. by todays standard but thats the car! I was the kid with a the 4' Lambo pix in his room............I actually have a crystal Lambo Ive had for 20 yrs.

Well, I see we went from Vette to R8 to a f430. . . . . Maaaan. . . lol
Even if I had mad stax of cash it comes down to what the car is going to be used for. If it's a full on exotic, pick whatever you like. . . If it's going to be any sort of DD you need to consider how much it will be driven. The more it's driven the less exotic I would go.

For 40K, you can't beat a Z06. If you can up it a little and spend 60K, look at 09 GTRs. They may not be so attractive, but the modding potential is out of this world and the DCT is amazing! All while having 4 seats and a trunk the size of 4-ddor family sedan.
BTW, R8 is a great car. One of the most refined exotic on the market, along with the 997 TT / 991

The LSx series is sooooooo easy to mod and you can make sh*t loads of power and only have to do a little suspension work.

I would post pictures, but it would make me cry!
GTR posts some AMAZING (Mind numbing) stats, but the car is NOT for a person who like to DRIVE a car. It feels nothing like a supercar. The car does EVERYTHING for you. I don't even understand the point behind the car other than to sell to people who cant drive to brag about how fast their car is. Screw stats if the car doesnt give you goose bumps when you drive it. GTR is BORING and that is why you can buy them for half the price new.

pretty much anything is easy to mod. Just with exotics is expensive as hell.
But an ls in no better then a ford plant imoIf people can't tell your on steroids then your doing them wrong

My dad owned a dealership for a long time. Last vette I drove was an 08 zo6. And yes is about a step below an all out super car. Put 5 grande in it for a tt kit and it will surpass anything on the road. Plus they really do handle. I'm all about all American muscle cars though. Among my favs my dad had were the many vettes, Chrysler srt8, 07 Roush stage 2, bullitt mustang, 2 shelbeys. The lost goes on. I love nothing better than the sound of American v8s

The R8 filled the gap between sports car and exotic. It combines luxury and awesome performance. The problem is that there are not many who want to drive a supercar daily (thats why I sold it). They either want an every day car or a high performance car. Doing both is a great thing for a small % of the people buying these cars.
If I were to have an everyday driver and I could ONLY have one car, it would be the R8 ALL DAY. It's magical.

"Boring" is subjective. I did not find the car boring at all, especially while it had 950 HP. =)
Buy them for half the price new? What do you mean? The GTR holds its value EXCEPTIONALLY well, better than any mass produced that I know of minus some hyper cars and the Ford GT.
Agreed. Although it does need some "oomph", even the V10 model. I guess nothing a tune can't fix to bring it up to par with the LP560.

Well, what I want is a Gix 1000 or Busa, but the wife is trying to get me to compromise on something that she can and will ride on. Either way, I'm going with a sporty bike the first round, then I'll get rid of it for the Harley, which is where are both pulling for as 50 starts getting a bit closer with me.
