Who knows if being 'mentally handicapped' (I think thats the PC term being used today, but hell it could have changed to 'Cognitively Incomplete', or similar liberal feel good term) is a protected class of peoples. You know those liberal laws, which assigns value to people based on what 'group' they belong to, and not them as an INDIVIDUAL of equal value. Hate crime legislation is little more then the criminalizing of political thoughts and feelings, how you feel a certain way about a particular person, based on an erronerous, random, and obscure perception of that person belonging to some protected group/class of people. Unfortunately, and more often then not, hate crimes are charged based simply on the actions of one person of one more disenfranchised group vs. a person who belongs to a protected group, and not on the admission of that person that they assaulted a particular person simply for belonging to that group. The bottomline, assigning greater punishments for acts committed against members of a specific group is little more then the government deciding that people who belong to those groups are more important/of higher value than those who do not belong. Rather, if we believe that all people are 'created equal under God,' then we would punish crimes against all INDIVIDUALS EQUALLY. One can always hope right?

On a side note, at the university I attended for undergrad, it was labeled one of the top 100 most liberal university's in the United States by Michael Savage, in no short part due to some professors within certain liberal arts departments, which and I am directly quoting a COURSE SYLLABUS, "It is impossible for African-American persons to be racist, only a white person can be racist." Quotes like that evoke a sentiment inside me akin to 'puff puff pass', thats some strong shit.
