You're correct TR, although I don't support anyone who believes it's OK to call a child a whore and abuse her because of mistakes, that's more than a difference of opinion, that's bullying and abusive to a child, if he's gonna bite off a chunk of that argument then he should be ready for a harsh response........however, I was disrespectful, I will gladly edit my post or offer an apology for the way I said what I did.
I have raised 2 girls and spend every moment trying to be involved and talk openly and be the father they need, so many kids don't have that, I didn't, that doesn't make them garbage to be kicked to the curb for something beyond their understanding and mostly out of their control.
SHSM......I find all of the posters and stories you presented about suicides to be very sad, regardless of circumstances.

Unfortunately, you're pretty right about this. It seems people only even give a shit about this whole story because the girl who offed herself was beautiful. That dorky ugly kid in next to her nobody gives two shits about. I'm sure if Amanda was some hideous looking hog of a girl, this thread wouldn't even exist since none of us would care to know who she was. It's rather sad, but that's how the world works.
But, so that just makes her the poster child for anti-bullying. The real sad thing is her death and the deaths of every other bullying victim wont change a thing. We knew bullying was wrong and fvcked up back when we were kids and all of us either bullied, were bullied or both (to some degree at least). After it's all said and done, they'll make kids go through a few assemblies on bullying and then it'll be business as usual. There is a natural hierarchy of social value in schools with the cool kids on top down to the biggest geek on the bottom. That's where the bullying comes from. It's the enforcement of the pecking order and despite everything, it'll never go away.

It's not respectful to call a 15 year old girl a whore either. This board keeps talking about being more respectful towards female members and females in general. I'm sure this d-bag calling a 15 year old victim a whore will surely make female members feel welcomed

They weren't even really mistakes, just life which others decided to use to bully her over and I'm sure most of us can remember being that age and how our emotions can get the most of us sometimes.
How many of us can look back and remember how we felt at a certain time like it was just SO overwhelming and felt like no one else has ever felt this way be it Good or Bad. Now it's just no big deal and we realize just how out of control our emotions were at times.
Very sad how the whole thing played out and what is worse is there are people on her FB still saying it was her fault, calling her names, saying she was a slut etc. Stupid pathetic kids.

Can anyone find the misspelled word?
Realist: A person who sees things as they truly are. A practical person. The pessimist complains about the wind; The optimist expects it to change; The realist adjusts the sails. — William Arthur Ward

Why do I feel the AV is pretty fitting? With the responses to this thread alone I'm not holding my breath for you/him being a LONG term member. Even when I was young and dumb I dont remember ever being that judgmental of others, especially someone I never knew.
Why do you act like you KNOW exactly what this girl did? Did you know her or have first hand knowledge of the situation? I read some of the stories on FB also. Some similar to what you are saying but mostly from other kids who are exaggerating things. Big deal if she flashed someone online or in person once, twice or more. So what if she hooked up with some guy who was going out with someone else. Obviously HE wanted to or it would not have happened. Id bet he was the aggressor and probably told her (like most guys do) he was breaking up with the other girls or some BS story.
Bottom line if you knew her or not you should not be so quick to judge or be disrespectful especially under the circumstances of her death. You might feel different (god forbid) if someday something similar happens to your child. FYI, Dont say it could never happen to you. Like has a funny way of proving you wrong when you tempt fate.Last edited by lovbyts; 10-16-2012 at 05:29 AM.

Here is an interesting read for anyone still interested in this topic. Anonymous has outed the man they say was responsible for stalking her and driving her to suicide: http://jezebel.com/5952080/anonymous...odd-to-suicide

sorry TR i respectfully disagree with you. in your day bullying was a face to face act. today with the cyber world you can not get away from anything. once on person gets bored someone else sees it all and will just step in. with her the first dude probably quit but someone else was like oh i want to see a show and then another and another. in your day youd have the option to punch them in there face. this chick didnt have a clue what was going on who was doing it. i dont agree with her killing herself i think its stupid but i understand

I just watched that video and realized she was only 12 when the picture was taken. I'm sorry everyone, I regret what I said about this girl being a whore. She was a child and was taken advantage of and constantly stalked and harassed by some monster on the Internet. I can see how you guys hold strong emotions towards this because of your children. I couldn't imagine if this was my daughter. I would go crazy.

This is such a sad story. I cried watching that video! Stuff like this gets me so angry! Luckily I was never bullied but I'm sure there were kids bullied in my high school as there were the "outcasts". Whether she was 12 or 15 when it happened, it was still wrong but I'm glad you apologized for saying what you did.

Every school has those "outcasts." But everybody at the school has their hands dirty in it. I mean, I bulled kids out of boredom and sport, but I had tons of enablers. Everyone who laughed at the antics I did to humiliate the kids that I picked on was part of it. Even the girls who would be like "that's so mean" and show pity on these kids but yet would continue to associate with the likes of me and others who also made fun of these kids had their hands dirty in all of this.
Shsm was way out of line about the "whore" comments, but I think those were more or less to incite a reaction out of us. I don't think he honestly believes it. Besides, his comment about us only caring because the girl was pretty has quite a bit of truth to it.
Anyways, looking back, I think the biggest problem is there are no heroes at the top who will break the chain. I mean nobody wants to befriend the biggest geek, it'll lower you on the hierarchy and make you a target yourself.

Because today we live in a world where corporate punishment in school is not allowed, indeed even shouting at a pupil is frowned upon. Bullying will always occur, only today nothing can be done about bullying because of the paranoid media that is all too pervasive in the West. We also live in a society where the victim is either not taken seriously, believed to be a liar or in worse cases, punished for being a victim.
I was bullied at school quite a bit. That changed when I left, lifting weights and putting on size certainly helps, but kids arent as innocent as people think.
My niece started secondary school this year, and in one of her classes, two boys are bullying her, because she is dyslexic and so cant spell words very well. Shit like that really makes my blood boil.

That's cool. I just don't know what part you are disagreeing with. I think once we talk about this, I think you'll see we are actually agreeing. I was bullied when i was a youngster, and know the agony/embarrassment/humiliation of it. I go ballistic when i see others doing it. I raised my kid to be the gentle giant in school, and defend those that cannot defend themselves.
So I can empathize with her, just not to the degree she had to go through.

ill admit i didnt read all your post just your one about walking away or something and to be honest i read that a while before i posted my reply. i guess i just wanted to state that in your school days it was just kids face to face or egging houses or whatever. now a days its technology and once some stop others think is funny so join it. for her it will never stop.
what i dont get is these kids bullied her because she flashed a camera... well sorry to break these kids hearts but where they live you need to be 18 to go to a strip club so in 3 years these kids will be paying for girls to flash them. i dont get it

It is because kids are d*cks, plain and simple. I am talking about her peers in school. The man who tried to blackmail her using the screen cap of her flashing is an entirely different thing. That is much more evil. Trying to extort a 13 or 14 year old girl into doing a sex show on video cam is illegal and I hope he sees some time in a courtroom for that.
