    Maybe.
    Seems a little pointless though.
At that weight leverage plays a part in it I think.

600 lbs bench with good form....

I think he is crazy for only having one spotter though. No way could that guy lift it if he failed. I would want at least one guy on each end.

what's with the pointless remark, have you actually seen world class powerlifters bench? That's baby weight when considering gear.

Maybe pointless was the wrong term.
    Senseless might be better.
    Why not use clamps?
The other video was just for fun.
    Lighten up and breathe.
I can hear you hyperventolating from here.
    relax.

Yes the meaning would come across much better considering all we have is written words. Yeah I know the other video was for fun, couldn't stand much of that douche though. Can you believe all the stupid women in the audience oooing and ahhing over his sick nasty body?

I agree with you lovbyts. I don't care how strong you are, once you start loading the bar up with a lot of weight you need to have multiple spotters. It's the smart thing to do.

I found that out the hard way when i was younger. I had hit shoulders a bit one day and decided I wanted to hit some maxes on bench. I knocked out 405, then 425, then 440 with ease. Go under 450, break the weight and knew it was trouble. I was so shot and didnt know it that i could barely slow the bar coming down. Went to push it, got it two inches up and failed. My one spotter couldnt get it off my chest. i literally was so beat I couldnt help him lift it. I was glad someone else was around to help

that's a happy ending compared to what has happened to myself and so many others. I bench in my power rack with pins now, mis a rep no big deal don't even need a spotter.
