Is being fat becoming ACCEPTABLE>....
Not sure if this is thread worthy but wanted to see what every ones opinion was... It is starting to seem like being fat is OK...
This became noticeable the other day when I went with some friends to Hooters. " not a big fan of this place " any ways ... I go to order my meal... which was Tilapia, a grilled chicken breast and a side salad w/ vinegar and oil dressing. The guys with me and the waitress started laughing. She said " who comes to hooters and orders a salad " ... Judging by her thickness I knew she wouldn't... but that's besides the point. I felt like I was an out cast for ordering healthy. 2 of the friends with me knows I eat well and didn't say anything but there friends were chuckling at this as well. I thought nothing of this until today while sitting at work and watching every one stuff there face with sweets and fast food. Made me start to wonder if being obese slowly becoming OK///
This can be a serious or joking thread... but would like some opinions... or if this story bored you and I am just a vag lmk...

people think im some sort of pro bb, im 5'8 190ish, nothing ti brag about at all, but when in public i stand out like a white man in nigeria,
go for a walk around a shopping centre, for the hundreads of people you see, how many will you see and think hmmm he in decent shape, i dont know but over here it less the 5, we in the 1% of population if not less
20%b/f in men is now accepted as normal

I was at Kohl's the other day picking up a few tanks for the gf. While searching through shirts I came across a shirt that was a size Large, however it said "large/AVERAGE". (notice the "large" in small print and "Average" really emphasized) I thought to myself, when the f#%% did a woman's large become average? Maybe I'm just a shallow a$shole, I dunno, but this boggled my mind.

yeh i would say fat has become more acceptable for sure. personally i dont think it should have ever been unacceptable. it is unhealthy and should be discouraged but IMO society has become far too judgemental on appearance.
if u pay attention when u go to the mall (like i did yesterday) there are more people who are fat than there are people who are not. based on this it would have to become more acceptable because the fatties are in the majority!

It is definitely acceptable. I remember a few years ago going into a job interview and on my resume was personal trainer fromthe a few years back. They asked how I felt about staying in shape. It was like a rock and a hard place because all 4 people interviewing me were over weight. Two were obese for sure. So I quickly brushed up on the common health issues associated with lack on exercise or poor diet. Tried to just brush the surface.
Needless to say I didn't get the job. I believe I made the 4 uncomfortable due to answering a question they asked honestly.

i used to be fat.. still kinda am, but at least now people know that i lift weights....
ill never go back to the way i was before tho.. it's taken too much effort and sacrifices to get to where i am today to just forget about it and revert back to the way i was...

Kinda like the story Arnold told of seeing an obese woman walking down the street wearing a shirt with "Guess" written on it.
He said: Thyroid.

yes it has, as the the percentage of people that are obese has increased it mean the average person is. So to be obese is normal by standards. its really sad
If people can't tell your on steroids then your doing them wrong

you see its people like yourself and 405 (two off top of my head) that i have massive respect for, you didnt like how you looked so you changed it
im fvcking sick and tired of people saying to me, ah its only steroids without that you would be nothing, yes true i wouldnt be as strong and bit less lbm but id prob be leaner, but its fvcking hard work and i had a decent base to start with, people are just lazy fvckers, up until 2 months ago i used to run either a slow 20k or flat out 10k just because i wanted to keep myself together stamina wise, i enjoyed it too
i swear to god, i could think of 50 people that i could offer them a grand to to 20k in under 2 hours and they wouldnt even attempt it, shit i could offer 20k to lose 10lbs in 2 months and they wouldnt do it
the world is full of lazy pricks and they resent people in decent shape, fvck them all, im gona get bigger, they gona get fatter
the funny thing is that i often here ''all them steroids will kill you, heart attack etc'' i laugh and think to myself, yeah i gona die from heart attack before you ya 5'8 200lbs fat fvcking prick
ah here rant over, this shit gets to me, i often let it get the better of me when out aswell, snide comments in a nightclub, thick fvckers..............

Sadly FAT is more and more acceptable. Now I hate that for multiple reasons, one purely superficial and selfish because I really dislike the fat look on both male and female. The other is its just sad to see so many people killing themselves.

funny story (well kinda), i first started going to the gym because my doc said that if i don't get my diabetes under control ( by diet, exercise, and medication) that i would soon have to be injecting myself with insulin (and i hate needles), so i started going to the gym... now i wanna use AAS lol.. go figure..
this is gonna be a good year (it's already the 1st here, 3.30am) planning on doing 2 cycles

I laughed at the heart attack comment. Its true. People think steroids will give you heart issues, while they stuff there face with food and cigarettes... they are hypocrites that don't know it.
Seems like the consensus so far is ... fat has become acceptable only because its become the majority... Maybe other countries are right about America.

I don't really care... if someone wants to live that way, they can deal with the consequences.

The "health at any size" movement is disturbing to me.
They say the goal is to promote more physical activity, but it seems to mostly revolve around fat acceptance. It allows people to "feel" like they are eating a more healthy diet (but still too much food) and do a small amount of exercise which allows them to scream at the top of their lungs, "who cares if I look fat, I am healthy and that is all the matters."
Of course, they aren't really healthy, they just "feel" healthy.
How one feels is an almost meaningless tool for diagnosis...most people that have a heart attack and die feel great five minutes before.

This country, and others, is dying from the slow death of fast food. I cant stand it. It my biggest pet peeve.
I feel exactly like DanB, he nailed it for me. You could offer most people money to lose weight but they wouldn't give up their french fries and cheesburgers for anything! And they can point their fingers all they want at guys who use AAS and say that they are taking the easy route. But im here to tell them that AAS users are NOT lazy. In fact, i work out HARDER when im on than when im off. And i feel that AAS users are disciplined more than the average weight lifter. Disciplined in diet, weight training, and overall health.
So fvck all the fat lazy fvcking douche bags and their gross fast food and overweight disgusting friends. Im sick of seeing this country balloon up and the media and card carrying liberal hand holding overweight cry on my shoulder slobs suggesting its ok to be fat! It isn't! Its unhealthy and gross.
You want to see what average is? Take a spin on POF (Plenty Of Fish) or ANY other dating site and look at the photos of AVERAGE people. Its a fvcking disgrace. Overweight OBESE people who THINK they're AVERAGE! Average where? At a Jenny Craig convention??
The overall health of this country is spiraling down the drain..and i'll be watching it from a gym somewhere..
Sorry, but that felt good.

I love the look in the cart game. Look at the persons body then check out what they have in their shopping cart.

I also think this has to do with the lack of workers. No one does Manuel labor anymore as well as their own home work. Everyone sits at a desk all day and does nothing. Back in the day when we made our own steel everyone worked at steel mills and coke plants. Manual labor was what out fathers and grandfathers did for a living. Everyone goes to college and works at a desk.

Between this and hundreds of channels of television catering to the most specific of tastes (or lack of tastes) people just don't move much any more. Throw convenient, calorie dense foods on top of that and we have the disaster we are currently in.
I wish they taught nutrition in schools. Everyone blames a lack of PE, but studies show that isn't enough exercise to counteract the high calorie diets kids are eating.

Shit id be scared is hell to do that today and I'm almost 30 lmao

It's easier for out of shape ppl to stigmatize bodybuilders than getting their ass off the counch...
I'm sick of hearing comments like: C'mon, can't you cheat on your diet a little? Or If you spent less time training you...
There is on consolation tough: With all we know about the danger of being fat and out of shape, we can be pretty sure we will be around a lot longer than them.

Being fat is person dependent. Why care who's fat and who's not? It's none of my business unless it concerns my family. Nor is my AAS usage anyone's business but my families and if it negatively shows as much.
So basically, stay out of my business and i'll stay out of yours.

Not sure how it works down there Pete, but up here we ALL pay for it through taxes. People who intentionally create a coliseum for heart disease, stroke, or any other related health risk are costing us all more money in terms of provincial healthcare. It's the same for those who choose to smoke. So basically we're penalized for the lazy and weak. And that's the bottom line, cause Stone Cold said so!
