**General Health information**
General health information
We have some great members here who have a huge knowledge in general health concerns, many have a medical backgrounds, practise medicine and others have studied this field so we might aswell take advantage of this and get a thread going
If you have any general health concerns regarding anything post your complaints here
I know this is the lounge and everything is light hearted but if your worried about something lets hear it
Always see your own personal Doctor if you have any complaints with your health but if you would like to get some answers or information regarding general health we may be able to help
The reason why I started this thread was because recently I had some health concerns and had to go to the hospital and I posted my concerns and had some pm's from members who really helped with my complaint, so if they helped me maybe they could help you.
Always seek advice from your Doctor if you have any health complaints -

Ask anyone who has been in the military. Baby powder is your friend.
A bit of information I wish my doctor or anyone would have shared with me a while back that would have saved me 3 days of some of the worse pain next to my ruptured disk I have ever been in.
If you or if you know anyone who has to go in to have hemorrhoids removed do yourself a favor and go on a strict liquid diet at least 2 days prior or you will pay for it the next few days in ways not imaginable unless you can imagine what it would feel like to try to pass a pineapple backwards.

Depends on your definition of old. HRT is for old guys but there seems to be a lot of 20 somethings HRT guys out there. It also depends on current health issues. If you have an enlarged prostate doesn't matter how old you are, it sucks getting up 4x a night to pee and much better to wake up with solid wood like when you were 17 again. lol

the mechanism by which cialis helps relieve symptoms of BPH might be by relaxing the smooth muscle fibers surrounding the urethra. i am not sure if it actually decreases the size of the prostate itself. cialis also relaxes the smooth muscle in the blood vessels supplying the penis. thats how it treats ed.
what is more important is that cialis must not be taken together with other potent vasodilators like nitrates or alpha-blockers. the resulting drop in bp can be so severe as to put people into coma. (not joking)
for anyone with a heart condition, taking nitrates or alpha blockers, dont try this at home

Thanks Marcus. That is awesome idea there are quite a few members that have medical issues but refuse to see a Doctor. Hopefully members that they trust can get through to them and they will get the medical assistance that they need.

How do water infection occur?
-
04-24-2013, 05:40 AM #22
urinary tract infection is usually caused by bacteria from the external moving up the urethra and multiplying either in the urethra itself or in the bladder.
in females, the urethra is short, and UTI can happen easily. usually a round of antibiotics is all they need.
for males. the urethra is much longer. it is much less likely for bacteria to get up high enough to cause a problem. therefore, whenever an adult male is diagnosed with UTI confirmed on urine microscopy or culture, further tests are required to look for a cause. could be a stone, a structural abnormality like a stricture, or worst-case scenario.. tumor.
this is different from STD sort of infection, where people get pus and discharge instead of painful bloody urine. STDs don't require further investigations other than contact tracing and possibly treatment of partners.

I like the overall idea of this thread and the direction you're headed Marcus, but i feel that containing the information here in one thread may be lost within itself, and perhaps do a disservice long term.
What i mean is, it will be difficult to locate certain health topics if they are scattered throughout one particular thread, rather than having separate threads and topics specific to health related issues to comment on. Separate threads also encourage the user to identify the issue(s) in the header which makes finding similar topics and information a little easier.
No disrespect, just offering an alternative opinion.

I have recently been getting sick for a long period of time. And more recent. Used to only get the flu once a year. I've already had something twice this year and when I do get sick, it's lasting 2-3 weeks at a time. I go see the doc, he doesn't show too much concern. Just gives me some anti's and moves on.
Any ideas to help my immune system out?

Yeah no flu shot in about 20 years lol. Besides that u brought a couple good ones for me AD, sleep and stress are probably my two biggest problems. It sucks, work with so many people that just party and don't take care of themselves and most are unsanitary and im the one getting sick all the time :/
Aust gonna try this asap too. Waiting on most of my vitamins to come in, switching to powder form where I can because pill intake is getting close to 12 each time, two times a day lol.

Woah. What's with the ignorant comment?? I don't deserved that. Ive shown you nothing but respect here. If you have a problem with my opinion (which incidentally i thought was very polite) then i suggest you use the ignore button Marcus. Just because someone shares an alternate opinion, that doesn't give you the right to be rude.
So smarten up. And if you still have a problem, then i suggest you take it up with the Administrators of this site because i wont tolerate your childish behaviour.
