Well here's some fun. I'm going in for an upper and lower endoscopy next Wednesday. Doc's been bugging me for a few years now to get it done. That means I can't eat at all for 24hrs prior to the 0700hrs procedure other than clear jello and clear liquids. I'm gonna die! So, I figured I'd get up before 0700 on the fasting day and totally stuff myself. Otherwise I'd be all night, all day and the next night until the procedures are over before I can eat. WTF. Is there a clear protein drink on the market? (don't go there)

The thought of the procedure doesn't bother me at all. The thought of no food is killing me. Can't stop thinking about it. I don't know how some of you nutrition guys do that fasting stuff, jeez! I asked the nurse if they could just put a wiper-washer on the tool and just let me keep eating. She laughed in a demented fashion, IMO. Also asked her to make sure they do the upper first, then the lower. Not the other way around.

Anyway, I'll be violated in a week so I'm counting down. Not liking this one little bit.

Kel, you might be lucky if fasting is all they want from you. Some doctors insist on clearing your bowels completely and give you strong laxative on the fasting day. Imagine not eating, and still shitting every hour for a day. That will be the ultimate cut cycle.

    CBC question..

I just gave a double-red donation to the Red Cross and my hemoglobin was 18, range is 13 - 17. Does this directly correlate with RBC, so in effect my red blood cell count would also be over the maximum range? The nurse said even after the double-red I'd still likely be over the max.

I have a blood test coming up in 4 weeks and would prefer to be in range for it. I've considered blood-letting as an extra measure. Any thoughts on this pro's? I don't want marks on my file about high CBC and raise a possible AAS red flag. I assume an hmb of 18 isn't detrimental to my health, is it?

Jasc. Any chance you can run the cbc again yourself? I imagine both your Hb and Rbc will drop. It may reach the lowest point within the next few days due to dilution. But in a few wks, they may start to creep up again. Check your cbc within this wk to see if i'm right. If so, either you submit this result or try to bring forward your scheduled test. I believe the earlier the better.

And i dont think Hb of 18 is terribly dangerous. A very fit athlete or a chronic smoker may have Hb in that range.

We must both fit in to AD's "very fit athlete" category

    Thanks AD!

I was contemplating doing a private CBC test before the physical just to see where I was at. If 18 is feasible for someone who is fit, I may just run with it.

The nurse made it out to be some big deal. Then again she was about 350 and hitting on me, so maybe it was her attempt to get a "rise" out of me

Remember to run it asap. Your lowest level may be within the next 1-2days, (I think)...

And congrats on hooking up with that hot nurse.

caffeine withdrawal....when u drink coffee it constructs the brain arteries and blood slowly goes in....but when u dont drink coffee your brain still compensates for it and your arteries open allowing a "rush" of blood to the brain

i believe cialis and viagra are very similar drugs and work along the same pathway. using them together will not cause a dangeours drop in bp as much as adding drugs that work by other pathways, like alpha blockers and nitrates.

Cialis and very low dose alpha blockers (smooth muscle relaxer) such as Doxazosin are routinely prescribed and used together for those with erectile difficulty. Key is low dose. But I do agree that anyone with low BP should not consider either one! Great thread on that combination in the HRT Forum.

Yes. Track that thread down. It's a good read. We're talking only 1mg Doxy combined with 5mg cialis twice per day. So you see how low the dose is for this alpha blocker in this circumstance. Nothing compared to its intended function.
