What's your OCD
With my Bi-polar make up it lends itself to being very, very OCD about even more than one thing at a time. Thus sometimes neither gets the hardest work. One is enough to keep anyone busy.
With some it's just a passion and not what is classified as O C D.
Now sober from drugs and alcohol I wonder do I think all the time with a sober mind.
My OCD's are bodybuilding and now this forum. I'm spending much too much time on here. Hold those comment on me getting gone.

Songdog I don't know what you mean "cop" jobs. I will say I do get things done right in the end but the problem is I spend more time to get it right. It just then consumes so much time that I leave other simple things behind, don't get to them.
Anyway the thread is not about me so I'll back out.
I want to hear of other's who have OCD patterns and what they might be, thanks. ...crazy mike

The numbers 3 and 2. If I tap a desk twice with my right hand, i have to tap it three times with the other hand so it adds up to five. Then I have to tap twice with the left hand and three times with the right hand after..

I have OCD (actual medical diagnosis) in regards to organizational issues. For instance my books are organized in methods that make a library look like an amateur method. (To such an extent that if I go to a book store or library and things aren't where they belong, I will start cleaning/organizing the shelves.) My needlework projects, paperwork, etc all have very specific organization. My spices are all organized by alphabetical order in groups by ethnicity for the type of cooking to which they belong. My OCD also effects what I learn and how I learn it.

There have been a couple of studies that have shown a positive correlation between OCD and intellect. From my own personal experience, the most intelligent people I have met suffer from varying degrees of OCD.

Lol, that would be mean to him. Yes, I know about my anonymity and therefore his; but I have given him so much grief growing up about his OCD tendencies (I'm only aware of probably 3/4 of them) that I have made a deal with him that I would be nicer. I suffer from very minor forms of OCD, and I would say my extreme attention to detail and drive to know everything stems in some way from my OCD; yet I would still be an asshole to him about his. I know one can't help his/her OCD tendencies, but some of his shit would just annoy the hell out of me growing up.
I won't give an example of a very bizarre thing he does, but I will say he knows if anyone uses anything of his. It is quite remarkable actually, almost Sherlock Holmes-esque. During his freshman year in college, his roommate used his pair of scissors and remembered exactly how they were before he used them. Somehow my brother knew that he had used them, which suggests there are very subtle things that my brother notices. Again, I whole-heartedly believe it is his OCD that plays a major role in his supreme intellect.

here is a couple. my wife insists im OCD.. im not sure, i suppose i am a bit.. really i just prefer things exactly a certain way.
when i get home from work i have a ritual that has to be performed in an exact order.
1. i come in and immediately put the things in my pocket in the basket.
2. put everything else down on the floor (bag of empty tupperware containers).
3. go get pennys bowl and then max's bowl and fill em both up with food and place them in designated eating areas.
4. let penny in which requires taking her collar off, carrying her into the bathroom where her paws have to be rinsed, scrubbed with soap and a brush, rinsed again, and dried. then she can touch the floor.
5. by this time max is finished eating and he can be let in, collar removed, carried into bathroom for a foot rinse, scrub, and rinse and dry. he then goes immediately into his crate.
6. now i can shower.
7. once showered i prepare my food.
8. once my food is completed me, my laptop, both dogs go up to the man cave. (the bedroom door must be shut at this time to not allow either dog access)..
9. once up in the man cave i sit my food down and then have to plug in my laptop charger into the wall and stretch it out to where it can charge the laptop.
10. tv turned on
11. now i can eat..

I actually have this about my interior. I can't even drive if the rear headrests or armrests are not in the down position. Seats have to be upright and not a spec of dirt in the car. I never show it though. If I have any passengers, they're usually enough distraction for me, but once they get out I go into recovery mode. Funny thing is, I could care less about the exterior.

Nail biting and hair plucking are my current compulsions. I have no finger nail left on my baby fingers from biting them down so much and my finger nails bleed often. Hair plucking started recently for me. I also pick at my finger nails often and pick away at the skin beneath and around my nails with pins or staples at work.
When I was younger I went through a brief thing with hand washing. If my hands came into contact with anything, I would wash them right away.
Another weird thing I did when I was younger would be making sure that any light that hit my eye would effect my whole eye. If I was sitting down near a lamp that was on my right, I would look over at the lamp every one in a while and made sure that it would hit my left eye too.
I've probably plucked a dozen hairs and picked my nails a few times typing this...
And yes I am super ****ing smart.

so?? you gave up masturbation as a vice.. good for you...
this forum on and off, can be very addictive, you get out of it what you put into it..
much like many things in life.. my 5 yr old seems be be the center as it should be for me, obsessive?? you could say that, i call it being involved and aware of what i can do for him..
when i'm working out/eating for an event I'm stupid crazy about what happens in my life, lifting, eating, sleeping.. it's a hot mess but get results..
Isn't that what it's all about..
I'd say OCD is more about not being able to control something.. and since i'm more of a control freak, i can go from project to project..

I also have to be the one to kiss my daughter last and put her down to sleep. To this day no one has layed her down but me. I'm the last one she sees every night before those eyes close.

organization.
im a neat organized detailed freak. everything in or house has its own "HOME". THEIR ARE NO LOST KEYS IN THE MORNING (THEY ARE ALWAYS HUNG IN THEIR HOME) even the tupper wear is neatly stacked in the same spot and order every time (never any missing lids) ...when I clean the car, q-tips are involved.
It got really bad when my son was younger ~ i HAD to get him every Disney VHS when it came out and i HAD to have them organized by color (red orange yellow etc) I took a step back and realized I needed to calm the fvck down when I came home woith a new movie and it had multiple colors on the vhs binding and I actually sat there trying to figure out what to do HAHAHAhahaa aa
so still supper clean and organized and for some people it takes awhile to adapt (tigershark lol) but it does have its perks and hay we never have any bugs or weird smells or wounder where stuff is so im ok now with my OCD (oh and its the same for teeth and that traveled to my son as well- we both brush religiously floss scrape tongue whitten and use gum messages) but im really grossed out by other peoples mouths that are unkempt and bad breath makes me physically gag *did you know that a french kiss can exchange cavities and plaque? thats effing gross

when im running (jogging) sometimes i get the feeling that my right foot has fallen behind my left foot in the amount of times it has hit the ground and so i have to hop on my right foot twice to catch it back up..
i do the same thing with blinking my eyes.. and also on the elliptical: if the left handle hits my left shoulder then i have to also let the right handle hit my right shoulder. they always have to be even..
when i was a kid and i would walk i would feel compelled to spin around clockwise every so many steps.
