I go to 4 or 5 different gyms depending where I'm at. They are all under the 24 HR Fitness franchise which I'm sure several members are familiar with. Nothing spectacular. Typical franchise cookie-cutter model where most of the gyms look almost identical. Not like some of the older gyms with character and history that you guys have mentioned! Those sound great!
Over crowding in the franchise gyms is the biggest problem. Too many people treating it like a social club. More than half the trainers look like they've never picked up a weight or set foot on a cardio device.
One of my favorite gyms was in Vietnam. It had a lot of Asian girls within the 6 floors of training space! Cardio, weights, yoga, exercise classes in a building that overlooked down town Saigon.
Did I mention, it had lots of Asian girls!!!!

Come on Austin, that's about 10x the size of my place. And a billion times cleaner. But only slightly less quiet 2am?

It's a bit upscale but you get what you pay for. Indoor/ outdoor pools, lap pool, steam room in each locker room, cherrywood lockers, granite benches, huge sauna.
I was on a free ride for years from the parents but I have been paying for a few years on my own now. 55$/month. And that's the rate I'm locked in from 10yrs ago. I'm probably dropping my membership because its too pricey. Go to LA Fitness or something

lol... that's not me... wish it was. This dude doesn't look like much in this pic but he's actually got a great physique, and he's young.
Btw, it's actually white, not pink - just bad lighting!
Lmao!!! I can't STAND those shirts... totally gay looking... but unfortunately they're pretty popular around here... I can't imagine why. You'll never see me in one, a) because I'd look like a fat douche, and b) even if I didn't, that's just not me!

Haha. I had a feeling it was white. So let me get this straight. You just randomly went up to a dude and took a picture of his lifting?
I can proudly say that I have never seen a shirt like that. The ones I wear are pretty tight too though (Nike Store. Nike Pro Combat Core Compression 2.0 Men's Sleeveless Shirt).
