Ok, since we are being hypothetical, first I dont have any children, and do not plan on having any, but, if my daughter was being raped or assulted, and she was able to make a phone call during that time, she had better call me, not some stranger.
I will be more than happy, return the favor the the asshle taht is raping my daughter. Why call the cops? What are they going to do? Arrest him and sentence him to 2-5 out in a year.
**** that! He would be dead. Thats justice my friend.
I said police have their place. I never said that they are not needed. I personally do not need them. You can call them when someone breaks into your house and steals your TV. I am sure that they will do a through investigation and get your TV back for you. Better hope they dont go snooping around your house and find something to charge you with

These cops are thugs and probably pvssys in highschool. Its a shame this dog was murdered and this man was arrested. I hope there is a lawyer out there willing to fight for that guy. I'd do it for free if I could

I hate cops, but the dumbass guy with the dog should have not put himself, or his dog, in harms way. he could have gotten in his car and drove off, but he refused, and as a consequence his dog had to suffer for his stupidity. just sad in every way.

Really? Seems to me he was being peaceful and co-operative. Had he have gotten into his car and drove off he would be fleeing an officer of the law. He put his dog away because he was instructed to and was being approached by the officers. They were aggressive with him and his dog was doing what dogs do. Being protective. He was being arrested for what? Loud music...suck it. These cops (not all cops) are invalids and have shown how trigger happy they have become.

Police in the UK are f'in useless. Well. Most. N all politicians and the government. Bunch of pencil pushing bureaucratic assholes.
Oh. And doctors suck too. And their receptionists even more. Nhs. Yeh great. Pfft. Nearly 2 years later still waiting for a second heart op.
Anyway. Yes. The dog thing. Whole situation could have been prevented. I expect the cop saw an f'in great rotty. He doesn't know. Come to defend its owner by way of the only way it knows how. To attack the people doing it. Wrong to shoot him maybe.
What if a young kid booze up had a scuffle with the guy n it mauled the kid instead.
What if a younger kid. Maybe a friends kid he was looking after had one of those kick ass tantrums screaming n flailing about n it mauled em.
The fact unfortunately remains of cause and effect. The dog attacked a human. Just happened to be someone with a gun. The dog got shot.
Yes. The cops should of showed restraint and could of handled things better. The guy could have secured the dog more effectively. All ifs n buts.
It'll come down to cops would say they were defending themselves from attack from a dog they could at that point in time label vicious. Irregardless of the circumstances beforehand.
Its a pity. Love dogs to bits. Had a dog we rescued from druggies. Unfortunately he was so stained from that he'd go for plain ppl simply walking past too close. Even nipped a couple of folks (not whilst in my care mind). Dogs are dogs. They'll react to things. A lot of dogs wouldn't go to bite even in that situation. This one did. Rip rotty. You just couldn't help it.

That's tough cause the dog viewed hiw owner as being in trouble and wanted to defend. No clue why he was put in hand cuffs.
That was hard for me to watch

OK...just to paly devils advocate here. Look at this from another direction. The "gentleman" who's dog was shot obviously has a history of trying to sue LE based on his ambulance chaser (I mean attorneys) statements. How many of you or any normal person would walk back and forth in the scene of a SWAT raid on a residence. None of us know exactly what the "suspect" was doing to interfere with the SWAT team raid. I can envision this guy being a nuisance and interfering with the operation under the ruse of being a concerned citizen (who already has an axe to grind and is looking for a pay out) so he puts himself and (and his dog) in a position to force action that he may continue to push his law suit with the city. This guy is not a victim..he is a dumbass!
The way the dog exited the car and ran at the officers...I may have shot him to. I love dogs but I don't love to be bitten by them!

It's situational, I deal with conflict and aggravated situations all the time in my job. And you can never really say exactly how you would react.
However, that dog looked a little excited, ill agree. It did not look threatening. Adults should have a decent understanding of how dogs behave by now. You don't lunge at its face and then get upset when it jumps. Ignoring the situation with the male, the dog situation was handled poorly.
